Maryborough with a new highest Nov rainfall, 155mm so far this month and beats 135mm in 1924 so an 86 year old record broken. Yeah.. :D

You may end up adding to that with another 10-20mm before the month is out and set some December records too!!

1.8mm of rain today, drizzly, wintery and foul. That cold air is going to be useful come mid week!! :D Might see some hail in thunderstorms!!

I reckon the way this years going Karl it's a certainty Dec records will be broken. Probably get Dec av rain by next weekend and only need another 129mm to get to our highest yearly total ever (1023mm). :)

I know! My husband was saying the wives in those houses would be banging on at their husbands, "Told you we shouldn't have built here!!!" LOL

Put some more pics here, if anyone's interested :) http://www.theaustralianweatherforum.co ... 796#p36796

Hows this for a record. A place like Dunolly which is box iron bark country (dry as chips) averages 30mm in November has had 189.4mm so far this month. 808mm for the year, 853 is the all time record since 1882. If we get wet this week and get 1 more follow up system, many many area's around here will break all time annual records.

Not sure if its in the right thread or not - but the SES and Vic police holding a public meeting 3pm at Charlton town hall for residents. Look like Charlton is going to cop it again from the Avoca River.

Eppalock releasing at 20,000mg/d. Laane to spill at a rate of 100,000mg/d today, would love to see pictures of that. The foam in the water would be frothing everywhere! Not to mention the noise :o

I assume they will have to have the spillways gates almost fully drawn down to get that much water out at one time.

For people on the Loddon downstream this will be much much worse than September 4-5.

All of the creeks around here are flowing at a very rapid rate. Some of the local smaller creeks at the very head of the Maribyrnong catchment are basically rapids with huge banks of foam forming on the creek bank. The creek down the road from here is like that. The creek on the bend of the Mount Macedon Road between Centennial Park and Drusilla is registering 0.6m on the level indicator (it goes up to 0.9m). It's probably dropped a little since I was there at around 12pm. The waterfall at Stanley Park is ferocious atm and the Turritable creek is carrying a lot of water and a bit of flooding in some small areas past the bottom of the falls. All this water would be making it's way down into the Maribyrnong now. The Maribyrnong river at Maribyrnong (near Highpoint) is now around 45cm below minor flood level. I'm no expert but I could imagine another burst coming through there tonight and there could be some minor flooding developing around that area.

Sun is out here now!

The Maribrynong is also a tidal river and high tide at the mouth near Williamstown is 8:03pm this evening Andrew so with quite fair bit more water to come coinciding with the high tide I expect it to rise quite abit more the next 4-5 Hours out near Highpoint way and around the Maribrynong township itself and expect some low level flooding. I will take some pics later.

Thanks for pointing that out John. That's why the level fluctuates so much in the lower parts of the river, I've always wondered why that is and it makes sense now. Definitely worth watching the situation there because there's a history of serious flooding around Flemington, Maribyrnong etc.

Been offline all weekend as we've had some visitors.
Ended up with 55mm to 9am this morning, so a very sizeable fall.
Could do without any more for a while, the place needs to dry out!
Nice pics from everyone, there's lots of water around!
'til the next time....
