I had 13.5mm last week up on the mount. It was a pretty chilly weekend up there 7C on saturday and 7.4C yesterday. Some very nice autumn foliage happening at long last. This week should see it peak. Especially Japanese Maples and Oaks.

Wow, where did that come from!!?? thought it was a plane going overhead, even checked 'planefinder.net' as we don't always hear planes this far out from tulla!
Can someone PPPPLLLEEESSAAAAEEEEE start a new thread for this upcoming weekend. It looks nasty.Everytime I start a thread the weather goes the other way from the topic, so I'm scared. Low-ish level snow is a possibility this weekend. That's what interests me the most from it.
Steve I asked yesterday about someone starting a new thread because I was hesitant to as I have to know pretty well what was going to happen reading others comments. It was the same for the weather knowledgeable people yesterday. They just wanted to wait a bit longer so just be patient and it will probably be started tonight or tomorrow unless you want to start it.

Patience stevco123, given that we still haven't had a dry day since May 1st this thread is still alive, especially with these thundery showers coming through this evening. Tomorrow is forecast to be generally dry throughout so this thread will end then I presume.
Perhaps we can take the plunge into a new thread tomorrow?
I went out looking for the supermoon tonight. I went up to Wheelers Hill to get it coming over the Dandenongs but it was too far SE so I hightailed it out Lysterfield way where I did catch it coming up behind clouds. As soon as I set my tripod up it started spitting rain so only got a couple of pics (better than last night when I got none) As the night was clear it didn't look that big, the atmospheric conditions just weren't right.
On the way back to the Dandenongs I saw the whole northern sky light up with lightning.

Ended up with 56mm spread over 6 days, so another good drop, shame it was mostly only a southern event, we need to get some up to our friends north of the Divide.

I saw the moon rise last night from my study window. It was so spectacular that it didnt look real. It looked like a stage set. Moon rising through all of these lovely little clouds, dont know what sort of clouds they were, they looked wind-driven, it looked like the sky was made from midnight-purple velvet with silver shimmery clouds and that massive silver moon ascending through the trees outside the window. It was remarkable. It was pretty good on sunday night as well

Not a writer, Rivergirl! Just a poor Gardener The moonrise was so amazing that i didnt even bother with the camera, my little digital thing would never have done it justice. I am going to make a cuppa and sit here and see if there is an encore.
