It's been trying its hardest to go all around us all day, finally scored a hit with 7mm in about 15 min or so.
Kids decided it was a good time to play outside in the puddles too!

Oh well mustn't be greedy I suppose, we got 9mm from the rain and storms early this morning. Just 1mm from this band, only moderate rain for about 10 minutes. Some really surreal colours though, all pink and orange, really made the autumn colours in the garden look fluorescent!

The storm just sideswiped us here here. Had a quick 7mm's with almost continous thunder coming From the east just after it passed us.
Calm now

well that was short and intense burst of rain and thunder here about an hour ago, it actually felt like the rain was coming from two different directions, small hail was felt but it only lasted for about 10 minutes and then the sun came out lol

Which then peaked with a black core right over us in Elwood. 8mm in very short time...very impressive white out for a few minutes. Spotted a stunning sun lit rain curtain 20 mins before it hit looking NW up the bay. This not so good pic doesn't do justice to the beautiful structure which revealed itself as the storm moved away to the SE.
Great to have some dramatic weather again and looking forward to what this week brings.

12.5 mm here for the day. Plenty of thunder and lightning late afternoon. Needed abit of rain as paddocks had dried out significantly last few weeks.

What looked like being a wasted afternoon turned in to a great one! Was chasing tail on those Echuca area cells before deciding enough was enough and to head back home...thankfully the weather gods had a surprise in store, as we caught a beautifully structured sunlit cell at Elmore and then snagged a few lightning pics near Goornong! Great way to end the season.
Just processing photos now...

Nothing here today of note, a couple of heavy spots for 1 min then all stopped, but some really nice structure on those lines out east especially with the setting sun highlighting those tops.

Stunning storm yesterday. Picked up 24mm from the storm so a very nice result and quite a nasty burst between Pakenham and Berwick yesterday evening, with that very intense thunderstorm travelling off the bay. Produced some nice photo opportunities as well pre and post storm. The humidity responsible for all this weather will move eastwards today.
Some areas had 30-40mm in a short space of time with Berwick being hardest hit and areas around Officer.

Some wonderful captures there guys. Awesome! I had finished the photo shoot at 5.30pm and was taking the model to the station when the heavens opened. It bucketed down but by the time I got down the bottom of the hill it had stopped. When I got to Devils elbow the setting sun and sky were just magical but had to keep going unfortunately.

As what often happens with these sort of setups, we were glanced by cells on either side in Burwood. I just scraped in 1mm for the day, despite seeing most of the Bennettswood valley disappear in a white-out for a considerable amount of time.

My area in the Dandenong Ranges got literally got smashed by that squall line that ripped through the southeast suburbs yesterday, it intensified almost directly overtop of us once it hit at around 5PM!!
For 30 minutes it was just non-stop bucketload-after-bucketload... that was the heaviest downpour I've seen since December 10th last year, 18mm picked up (97.8mm/hr being the peak rainfall rate), blocked gutters, and some nice lightning thrown in, including a DANGEROUSLY close CG
I was only expecting showers and possible hail today, I didn't get to see the amended forecast until after I arrived at RMIT University around lunchtime, I was completely caught by surprise when I saw the radar and the amount of lightning as the storms ripped through the CBD!
