Managed a trace yesterday. Another front today and then another tomorrow. Not much in either... though tomorrow looks a bit better.

Then another warm (almost) winter weekend :?

Pattern starts to change next week, with some potential for more widespread rain and cooler temps.

Should get a proper front today after yesterday's miss. EC and GFS both have locally 5 to 10mm. Windy again, but the best (err worst of it) going to our South.

Nearly 50mm more at Mt Reid :D

Apparently the all-time monthly record for Tassie is 984 mm for Mt Mawson. Mt Read must be a good chance to beat that...

Wet up here now with thick fog. Not expecting a lot, but anythings welcome with the average still a way off.

More good falls to our south with 20mm at the Prom, and more for Tasmania. Really strong winds to, with gusts well past 110km/hr.

Some thing substantial brewing late next week in the progs. Hopefully it holds ;)

Yeh... quite the downpour here in cranbourne west currently.

Seem to have copped the brunt of it today. ..

5 mm for us for the dates; handy top up.

Time for a thread for the Sunday/Monday system and beyond? Looking a bit more meaty.

Must have been in the sweet spot yesterday with 13.4mm's in the 24 hours to 9am here.
MTD now 81mm's well above average.
Melbourne (Olympic Park) sitting on just 31mm's for the month.

Yeah i can confirm Dane's figures. I received 13.0mm in the same 24 hour period. Just waiting for the official cranbourne stats to come out as the main site is less than 1km away from me.

The melbourne water site says it received 11.6mm

I know for sure now that my auto weather station is underreporting rainfall as during the last 3 events my other electronic gauge and the manual one have both shown equal amounts of rain.

It looks like around 3mm for here.

76mm for the month which is a little above the monthly average, but if the rain progged in the models comes off I could be looking at over 100mm which would be around the top 20% for the last 40 odd years here. It certainly looks like the El Nino grip has finally let go.

Both EC and GFS showing a significant cold outbreak in around a weeks time although that's still a very long way off.

Anyone else notice that the BOM site is not updating frequently last AWS update was 9.21am and it seems like that for all Australian AWS sites.

Another 6mm here yesterday (mostly in the evening) takes our MTD to 99mm, so should end up above average this month with the current outlook, possibly significantly so.
Nicest day for a while today, that pesky wind finally relented, though it's coming back with avengance soon enough. :(

Liking the models this morning. EC and GFS both showing widespread 25 to 50mm falls across much of Vic.

Good burst of cold air too for later in the coming week.
