Nothing wrong with Hauritz. He may get smashed at times (so do all spinners, particularly in limited overs games) but he gets them out as well. Pakistan just try to smash everything out of the park and they can't stay in for more than about 10 or 15 balls. No way they are going to win any sort of cricket match with that attitude. They are a very mentally weak side IMO, bordering on push overs. It won't be the same with West Indies and I actually expect them to beat us in the upcoming ODIs.
Well the Pakis never fail to surprise.
After getting thru an express spell from Tait and Nannes, they were cruising at 4.94.
Then they lost the plot and the game.
Well done to the Aussies. Feel a touch sorry for Kamran Akmal. 64 off 33 and no Man of the Match.
Everyone got caught up with the hype of Tait and rightly so.
Back to the one dayers on Sunday, in Melbourne against the Windies.
I liked how Ian Healy called Watson the ugly sister.
Watto certainly fired up when Warner departed.
This brings the end of Australia' (unbeaten) International summer of cricket. We now cross the ditch to play the Kiwis. Should be a competitive series.

You'd think so but NZ is only 1 point above Pakistan in the test rankings and 4 ahead of the Windies. They are a whopping 26 points behind England and 43 points behind us. They are 4th in the ODI rankings but we are no 1. so still a bit of a disparity.
I'd say it would be pretty disappointing if we didn't beat NZ in the tests and ODI series. We won't win every game like we did this summer but you'd expect us to come out on top overall. It would be a big step backwards from the way we have been playing the last 6 months if we were to lose the upcoming series.
The Aussies made it look like they were playing against young school kids last night lol, was great to watch the Aussie's batting but there was not any real competition from the West Indies in any of the games which made it boring to watch (especially when the Indies were mostly always batting second chasing far to high scores to make it exciting)
And there you go. If anyone is still interested in cricket, I would forgive most people for being sick of it by now, but another victory to Australia. Amazing run continues.
Yep, another good win, for a team that has rebuilded in the last 2 years we are playing brilliant, really looking forward to how we go in the test series, im expecting Ponting to have one to remember!
Superb bowling from Johnson, Tait & Nannes to restrict the Kiwis to under 120.
Great knock from David Hussey who is getting very close to a ODI call-up.
Geez I wish NZ would pull their finger out and build stadiums where mis-hits down go 20 rows back.
They will need to score 250 to stop Warner from making it on his own bat.
Laughable!!
Yeah, that was ridiculous. The pace of our bowlers was actually a huge hindrance because the ground is so small. McCullum was the only player who actually had an impact and he holds the 20/20 world record, 150 something in IPL, so nothing you wouldn't expect. If Warner gets going someone will get killed in the crowd.
Seriously, everyone who's been going on about Tait and Warner being formidable prospects in 20/20 need to rethink.
Tait's wayward bowling was a disgrace and Warner only really has one truly damaging innings about every 5 innings and the rest of them he is out within an over or two.
Fantastic effort by Cameron White and Michael Clarke's abilities go without saying. It was an excellent effort to tie the game given we were chasing 214 but I was just really disappointed with Tait and Warner.
One is trying to break the fastest ball record every ball at the expense of keeping runs down and genuinely searching for wickets, the other just tries to bash every ball out of the stadium like Chris happy happy joy joy, if he connects he is brilliant if he doesn't he is close to useless. If we have Johnson in, Siddle, Bracken or Hilfenhaus is available, or someone who can bowl accurate and yorker length every ball like Southee did for NZ which won the game in the end, we are a much better prospect in the 20/20 form of the game IMO.
A terrific win by the Kiwis this evening, made even more impressive by dont having Daniel Vettori.
275 always looked a shade under par, but a superb opening partnership set the platform an easier chase. Despite losing a few wickets in the later stages, Scott Styris steered the Kiwis to a 1-0 lead.
Watson, Ponting and Hussey all showed some form, but again, no-one converted the start into a hundred.
Football season fast approaching so cricket is at the back of everyone's minds but Aus had an excellent victory today and most fitting that it was Mitchell Johnson who did a lot of the damage. Watson also continues to play very well. Nice to see how they have responded, with the ball and bat, to all the immature nonsense from the NZ crowds and media. Incredible how fast the 'Johnson's a wanker' chants died down after he skittled Bond and Harris cleaned up Vettori to win the game.
