Yep, winds are getting into "dangerous" category again now up here. Expecting the power to go off any time soon.

Gosh BOM aren't backing down on the Bass Strait low; still progged at between 985 & 986 hpa as it dawdles through on Saturday (the speed as drifts through Bass Strait will be the only dawdling thing about it!)

And this has to be one of the few systems in recent times that doesn't automatically intensify as it moves off East Gippsland!

Tried to post something but it didn't send. BOM aren't going for a heap of rainfall or wind really. It's interesting because their charts show otherwise in my opinion. A fluid situation with lows like this. Good for weather watching. The weather chart provided looks amazing, with the low sitting there all day Saturday and the secondary trough coming through Sunday.

Still windy out there, but not as bad as earlier in the day, seems to be easing thankfully, the calm before the storm? :?

Power off once early today, then straight back on.
Seen some sheets on the line close to unwrappable...

On the IR satloop, the low spinning up in the Bight appears to be due west of Melbourne, tracking east.
Have torches and radio ready here.

When looking at the radar or doppler, remember the radar beam is not horizontal. It is at an upwards angle, so the further out from the radar - the higher altitude above sea level is what it "sees"

Ok, getting a lot windy out there now. 80kph gust just up the road, and the house is groaning... two major concerns... 1: the kids trampoline ( have knocked it over before the wind does ) and 2: the wind wakes the kids. Didn't put the car in the shed tonight given the shed is under a very large gum tree :-)

Just had a look at the BOM readings for Vic and the strongest winds seem to be over Central Vic now, and are generally a bit lighter over western districts now, so hopefully the worst is almost over now. Still going to be a windy night nonetheless.

Well we got the wind, pretty gusty here, and we got the rain almost 10mm today and it 5 degrees. IF it was just a little colder with a bit less wind it would be great.
