Yes, bad timing Geoff with the Yarrawonga radar showing some further development streaming south. Edit: Phew! Melbourne radar is working again.

Lot of showers going up in the clearer air in the Northern Country district at the moment which looks like it will be steered into the Central district later. Given high DP's and and OK instability around I wouldn't be surprised if we get a storm later this afternoon, evening, with later looking better for Central districts as this clearer, more unstable air shifts south.

...and it's all dying away!
I don't know what's happening this year. The Dandenongs are getting next to nothing from S/W airstreams (usually our best), we're getting good falls from pre-frontal showers/storms from the N/W (usually miss out), we did pretty well from this stuff from the east (usually very little) and now showers and storms arriving at peak time in an unstable humid airmass are all dying a death! ????? :?
Answers on a postcard please. ;)

Funny thing this morning I looked outside and thought we had had barely enough to dampen the ground. I didn't measure and went off to work. I was away for a meeting most of the day but in the afternoon I was shifting some tree trimmings and drove onto a patch of vacant land where we pile wood up for chipping and the ute started sliding about! I thought we must have had rain in the time we were away. Turns out that it was drizzling very heavily all night and we got 11mm from it! Talk about sneaky rain! The ground is that dry and the rain was so gentle that is was all soaked it apart from the worst clay.

Still a pretty big disappointment considering the shear humidity up here in the last couple of days. Very annoying to see big storms in some areas and other missing out all together. But as I said earlier, easterly rains backing in are very hit and miss and usually miss. The long range GFS has what looks to me untrained eye an infeed from the NW. So will be crossing fingers.

Yeah a bit dissapointing here with only 6.7mm's for the event and the MTD on 41.7mm's which is well below average again.

Surprisingly bullish forecast by the BOM for the next 18 hours, "showers and thunderstorms". Satellite loop does show rapid development taking place over western Vic as a trough approaches. Large fields of convection appearing and heading east quite rapidly. Will be worth keeping an eye on the western sky this evening! :D

Not a drop here and it looked so promising when I went to bed last night. Really needed that, our water tank is getting very low again. :(

2mm's overnight most of that about 1am. MTD is 43.7mm's and YTD 100.8mm's.
Looks like that may be it for this month anyway another dry month - 4 in a row.

Couple of convective showers just to north of Melbourne, they've developed a bit further west than expected.

Absolutely beautiful conditions though here! :)

EC now downgraded our area to a paltry 3.5mm for Wednesday's "event". If that's the case then I'm going to have to buy in another tanker of water for the house tank - never had to do that in April before! :o

Interestingly though Geoff is that both GFS and ACCESS have upgraded for central and eastern Victoria for the midweek event. Showing roughly 10-30mm so it's still not set in stone expected totals.
