Came home to constant rumbles of thunder and the odd CC.
9.2mm at Viewbank, 4.4 at Warrandyte but only 1mm here. Still, anything is welcome and the storms to the north are threatening to break through that SE'ly.
Power just cut out for a second and a big thunder roll.
It's agonising to watch it just sitting there to our north, but it's inching closer now, so I've just been up the ladder clearing a few leaves out of the guttering - just in case it gets here. Was cool watching all the lightning flashing around while I was up there though.
Similar situation up here but a bit different in that instead of hitting a shield to the south the storms are forming to the north and then sliding just a few km west of here. We are getting constant rumbles and flashes, it is a menacing view all around to the west and north but to the east it doesn't want to get going. Torturous stuff really. We have had 0.5mm here so far. A decent storm tonight would put an end to the horrific dry summer as we only need about 22mm to get the Feb average here.
A lot of CC bolts creating load crackling and rumbling rather than loud flanging Cg bolts. It's dark as guts here too, looks as if it could really open up here any second but at the same time it's still sliding about 5km to the west.
Thunder and lightning going off here atm and very menacing looking to the west and SW. Just drops here. Seriously, I though the steering was going to be NW today but it seem to be NNE although signs it might have gone a touch more NW in the last frame. Still ridiculously frustrating.
Actually been in a pretty good spot here considering that we have'nt been in a real active area today. Have had 6mm so far, a brilliant hailstorm and plenty of cg's now and even had the power go out for a while. GFS has my area getting more unstable tonight, probably from now on, so will be interesting to see what comes of it. CG fest here at the moment .
