Storms weren't really expected this afternoon in Melbourne (although there was a possibility) so i guess what we had was a bonus. Very humid cant really see how its dry :/ lots of moisture about expect some good storms tomorrow with very low LI values across the state. -8 LI around echuca forecast at 4pm (GFS)
All the components seem to be there for a good day and all I can think of is that most models are'nt picking up on it, apart from GFS, at the moment. No model I can see is giving good amounts of rain, apart from GFS, considering our conditions. Would expect 20-30mm normally in a setup like this but most models giving no more than 10mm here so will be interesting to see how today pans out, would have money on GFS being right atm, EC has 2mm here over next 48hrs.
Good morning all.
It's so muggy out there this morning. The warehouse here at work is absolutely disgusting. Surely something has got to give today & it just explodes out there with some decent storms.
Caroline Springs, Melbourne's meteorological boredom zone.
A record for the lowest all time rain in November could be broken today for Bendigo, that record is 14.2mm set in 1994. We are currently on 6.4mm. So a very dry month, our average is 40+mm.
Dry month here as well 35.6mm's (ave 71mm's)
Been a dry spring with every month below average.
Having said that a good chance of some decent rain and storms later today (fingers crossed)
Currently 25/19 and already 27.5c in the city would be surprised if it exceeded 30c in the city.
26.7 / 17.1 here in a light SW. Little sleep last night all the window open but it was too calm and nothing came in and the heat in the house just kept building up with the humidity.

On those obs Bendigo will set a record as any rain after 9am today will be included in the official tally for December.

It's wrong IMO, but thats the way they do it. It's stupid as the last time I checked todays date is November 30, so it's still November. But thats how they do it, stiff cheddar. Moving along.

Agree it is weird as any temp up to 9am tomorrow will be 'officially' considered as November.
I have had 50.9mm for the month thanks in a large part to the thunderstorm earlier this week.
Not much relief here either. Back to 35 today and 0.4mm rain overnight ( 3.2 for the month) and not a thunderstorm in sight! Looks like a very hot dry summer up here this year.
