Just had a nice hail shower here, been raining non stop since 7.50am.

Had 39mm now for the system after 8mm in 6 minutes. And still looking at another 50mm to come this arvo and overnight.

Luckily our autumn rains are a thing of the past, we will probably double the average for the month in 48 hours, whilst enjoying settled weather for 3 weeks. Perfect scenario i would have thought.

And temps are warmer in the westerlies, still NNE here and 8.8 degrees.

I think we have achieved max already for the day as the winds start to increase this afternoon and evening. Would not rule out low level snow tonight either to 800 metres or so.

Having a ripping event down here on the peninsula with action from all of the drifts. Haven't noticed any hail yet but it is very wet with the smaller creeks, drains and paddocks starting to flood. Fires on and very cold.

Looks like raining moderately within the hour just in time to annoy lots of people who are finishing work and walking home without an umbrella :(

Still raining very lightly, as it has for the afternoon. Going by the radar it looks like we will be in the middle of the next major band down near Geelong and Phillip Island.
Go the bombersss!

Not much fun being a gardener on days like this. :(
I was back down at Montrose and just couldn't escape the rain today, absolutely torrential at times, no hail but cold and very wet, just had to get out in it and get soaked!
Got back home to find 30mm in the Nylex since 9am, and radar showing much more to come. Temp. currently 6.2c. Brrrr!

31mm so far since the start of the event, including three storms, so certainly not complaining. I'm just wondering whether there will be more after this band passes. It looks like nothing is coming behind it unfortunately. could well be a dry ANZAC day parade despite the forecast. certainly is heavy rain though at the moment and I want more.lots more.

You need to look at the Tassie radar stevco, a lot of cloud and rain streaming up on their west side looks to be heading straight for us.

Wow at this rain. Been raining in notting hill majority of the day. Pretty heavily this morning with a few strong bursts through out the day. Only been home since 6pm and has been pelting down the whole time. Not game enough to go check the nylex which hasnt been emptied since Sunday. Guessing there will be a decent drop in there by the morning. :D

Bay effect. Cold polar air plus warm water at the surface equals uplift which results in heavy rain onshore. Copping it here in Boronia tonight - Reminds me of Feb 2005.

Heaviest constant rain since feb 4 2011 on way home. Flash flooding in glen waverley, scoresby and rowville. Localized heavy falls may be due to surface low generating extra lifting?

Braved the wet and cold and noted 13mm in the gauge since 0700 this morning.

Total since Saturday is 33mm.

Definitely higher totals in the outer outer east and SE but ticking over nicely here.

11mm in the city for the event so far, I thought there was supposed to be much more forecast? Or was that only for the Eastern suburbs?

Hey, I went for look up Mt Buller today and it started snowing heavy from 11am onwards, while I was on the summit and boy was it cold I had to don the ski jacket, pants etc. By 2pm the was a decent covering all the way to the lower tobogan slope at 1300m, in spots I would say 5-10cm so a nice ground cooler. The crew up there are optimistic for a good season and they are busy at work getting the resort ready with renervations and general work. Buller got to a max of -1.1 today so perfect in NW winds.
