Post by crikey »

Came across this www site that has some fabulous history of floods and fires in Gympie QLD and some great photos from early times

http://www.gympie.qld.gov.au/documents/ ... _part4.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
just a few lines taken from this interesting 'pdf' file

Feb 1893 ..floods peaked at 25.4metres

1902 ..severe drought.

2nd Sept 1932. ..Tornado hits Gympie ( pictures of the Monkland school damage )

Much more in this article

WZ have a news clip tonight re BOM possible heads up..possible cyclone CAT 1 from this low.
Titled.
.Deadly Queensland deluge may become cyclone
Monday March 5, 2012 - 18:19 EDT

More heavy rain is forecast for parts of the already sodden Sunshine Coast. -

The weather bureau has raised the possibility a cyclone could develop off south-east Queensland.

------------------------------------------------------

However noticed EC WATL wind indicating it will dissipate in 24 hrs..

I couldn't help wondering if that low will move south and become the ECL for NSW. However looks to be a separate system atm
