We're now up to 84mm since midnight, and once again the rain has tended back to very heavy. This will go down as a record-breaker for sure. How much should we expect here once this lot visible on radar pass?
I honestly never thought I'd experience anything like this. Thunder very close by. Rain has been constantly heavy since it started. STILL it continues with no real end in sight.
Whiteheads Creek has risen 3m in less than 3 hours however. VERY concerning.
Scrap that 84mm reading, now upto 101mm!! I know it's not 100% accurate, it is with a manual guage though. The official BOM station at Whiteheads Creek reports 94mm to 6:30am, so it must be quite close to the mark.
UK has the heaviest rain through the Western suburbs Today and further west back to Ballarat, GFS and ACCESS through the heart of Melbourne, BOM land and rainfall map similar to UK so be interesting how Today shapes up and pans out
Havent checked yet Stefan will soon though.. Today has Feb 4th and Feb 5th 2011 written all over it for Melbourne and Central Victoria anywhere from Bendigo to Ballarat East through Melbourne to La Trobe Valley
Wow, what an event and it's still going! Don't know how much rain has falled in Templestowe but it was raining heavily before. It's stoped for now. Anyway the lightning was amazing last night flashing constantly and I managed to get some awesome stills of it. I'll post them latter. I just wonder if more thunderstorms will occur today over Templestowe.
124mm at the Highlands (private) weather station. Between Seymour, Yea and Alexandra. 78mm at Alexandra. Raining quite heavily. Some minor flooding starting to develop in the north central. Water over roads in some places.
Up to 33mm here so far so I think I'll get my 40mm I thought I'd get. Huge falls already and more to come, and guys I would'nt be laughing at GFS, look at whats already occouring.
Meso wrote:44m at Bendigo Ap overnight and can hear thunder again here now. Expecting some massive HP dumpers today, should be some big totals clocked up.
