Quite eerie conditions out there, humid for starters, the cell approaching Mount Dandenong is just brushing us to the north... not a breath of wind, a dark gloomy overcast, ominous thunder but not much lightning and only a few spits of rain.

But looking at the radar, those cells passing over the CBD look MEAN! I want thunderstorm action, but not the chaos that descended on us in March last year!! :o

Well holy crap!
Rushed home from Dad's in Lysterfield just in time.
Pretty sure lighting hit very close and lost power for a minute or so.
This second one looks to be nastier heading straight for us.
Absolutley belting down now. Merry Xmas all!

My SES paging is going off with STW's. Not on call today but might just have to go help if needed.
Not even finished with round 2 and round 3 looks just as bad.

WOW. That storm that hit us just before was purely hail, like no rain, with the sun peeking though?!? 15mm of rain, and more deep rolls of thunder!! btw that cell to the west looks really intense. My aunty :o :) ;) and uncle were driving right through the core to get here and they had golf ball sized hail (on the freeway to make it worse...) slaming into them for 5 minutes!!
Go the bombersss!

My view from my vantage point in Coldstream, hopped out of the pool, just waiting for our turn.

Thankfully the worst seems to be missing us here, constant rumbling and alot of flashes but just steady rain, not too heavy except the odd burst and no hail
