Here's a list of record rainfall rates for each state. They don't have a 20 minute duration listed for Victoria, but the closest is 44mm in 18 mins and 54mm in 25 mins. So it seems likely that is a record!!stratospear » Mon Dec 19, 2011 11:36 am wrote:stratospear wrote:Certainly a real hit-or-miss system that's just been. We got 21mm, airport AWS 28.4mm, Redesdale 48mm....
The real standout has to be Halls Gap - 90mm in 20 minutes according to the BOM on the news this morning! That has to be close to a record! I'm trying to find record rainfall rates but without success.
You'd have to question that I reckon. A rain rate of 270mm p/h for that amount of time in Vic would be phenomenal...stratospear » Mon Dec 19, 2011 10:36 am wrote:stratospear wrote:Certainly a real hit-or-miss system that's just been. We got 21mm, airport AWS 28.4mm, Redesdale 48mm....
