NEVER EVER underestimate the dangerous power of lightning! One MASSIVE staccato bolt landed well under 500m away from my house... and I was outside when it happened!!! :o

Still no sea breeze in the inner northern suburbs which bodes well for the metro area.... but don't want to count the chickens just yet.

All just missing me so far, can hear it all rumbling around, radar showing an increasingly red cell bearing down on me now from the east...

god i would love for those cells in the east to go west instead of south west, intensify over the bay and give me 30mm in Lara in the next 2 hours.. really hanging for a cold beer, a deck chair and sit back and watch some fun weather...

black bases all over the eastern sky here, with some developing overhead. I think the eastern burbs will go off soon.

You're not wrong there Geoff. I'm watching to see if the black core goes from Frankston to Mt Martha where our holiday house is. We'll be there tomorrow, terrific spot watching the storms come over the bay

Quite windy here atm (but not severe/dangerous gusts) and heavy rain too... managed to get about 22 minutes of storm footage on camera, including a bolt of lightning, before the batteries died lol :P ah well, they're currently being charged up, while I have a fresh, fully charged spare now in use, so I'm off to record more action, which according to the radar, is set to continue for a while :)

Line of storms/showers goes all the way back to Mt. Buller, this could go on for hours! Quickfire 4mm here already. :)

Sounds like a perfect afternoon to me! I'll have a bourbon instead of the beer, though :D Love your pics Rog, nice one :)

Just a few drops of rain here, we're on the very, very edge of it all. Saw an amazing CG to our east on the way back from school, it was right in front of us, perfect view :)

Edit: OK, not on the edge any more, getting some good steady rain here now, no sparks though.

A nice line developing along the murray river moving SSW would be brilliant tonight, although radar is frustrating for most at the moment.
