Great lightshow and have just had a really short but very intense burst of rain - couldn't have been more than 20 seconds but the raindrops sounded BIG
Not a bad light show - managed to get a couple of pics of the fork lightning within cloud (as well as a stray plane) will probably post tomorrow - too hot and bothered to do them now.
Nothing close here at all, just a few distant rumbles. It looked like it was going to head straight for me, but deviated at the last minute and headed for Thunderhead instead!
5mm falling at a max of 98mm/h, and it's all gone quiet again. Thankfully the kids didn't wake up, but the cat's hiding in the pantry next to the alcohol...
awesome light show I must say, even from this far away. I'm at home with the kids and I've been shooting hand held with no tripod but got some nice CC's and CG's. Processing now.
Well, I can definitely say the flash flooding for my area isn't going to happen at all. It stopped before it could really do any damage. It just didn't last long enough. DP 20.2 Rh 80% temp a vey very steamy 25c
Radar shows rain has now reached Warragul for us Gippslanders, no lighting this side of the city yet, so even if we miss out on a storm (as BOM predicted), storm exhaust plus the nightime cooling should provide rain on the roof here in 90 mins or so. Good for sleeping anyhow!

Thanks for the effort Hamlan, but without posting your location, the photos' wont be worth your effort!
was at end of south rd watching this one form and saw some amazing GC's on the melbourne side of the cell. Short lived but enough to produce some minor flooding for around 2mins in hampton street but drains have now been flushed and now coping well.
To me I think the SE burbs / bayside are in for another round of storms tonight. Seems like it is using the bay to pump itself up and hitting the same areas that copped it last friday ie moorabbin/ mentone ect.....
surprised at how long it took BOM to issue STW you could tell that one was livley as soon as it popped up just south of melton at 8:10pm yet it took them until 9:52pm to issue???
edit = wrong about the time as the STW that I was looking at was for the dendenong/glen waverly cell

I can confirm that rain has not yet hit Warragul in reality.
But it has hit Pakenham (was on the phone to a friend living there when it hit maybe 10 mins ago.)
