just skimming me here too Karl, although had a few nice little bursts in the last hour, looks like about 1.1mm. Been a very fruitful day - totalling 37.2 now for whole event, 51.4 for month.
So from one extreme to another - off to Perth in 10 hours to top up the tan.
Been sitting under the sw sweet spot most of this evening. Showers very heavy times, the gutters have been overflowing every 15 or minutes or so when a dumping comes through. Quiet for the first time in a while. Very soggy atm, some nice warm weather now would be perfect since it is summer...
24mm since yesterday. Although my gauge is damaged at the top so its not collecting all the rain and a lot of it was blowing sideways so maybe a few more on top of that. Pretty much what viewbank is reading. A couple of light showers now but not much in them.
Another couple during the night, now cracked 50 and have recorded 50.6mm for this system. Sensational drop. YTD 56.9. Very handy at this time of year and should, fingers crossed, keep things nice and green until the next hot spell. One more decent follow up event in the next fortnight would spell the end of the fire danger and dodge a massive bullet IMO.
Well we did get our 10 drops here and that was all. Was never going to be a system for nth areas anyway and good to here alot of places got very good falls. Not looking good for Jan rainfall here but hey, it's summer, things are suppose to be dry and hot are'nt they?
No further rain overnight here as well DJ, so event total was 21mm's. Now 35mm's for the month still 18mm's below average. Looks like a pretty boring week coming up so we may still struggle to reach the monthly average down here.
There are a lot of areas across the state that have missed out on good rainfall lately and the fire risk is increasing in those areas, particularly western Victoria. So what we need is a widespread event. Generally cloudy here this morning, but fine, expecting a mild to warm and partly cloudy afternoon here.

Rog.
22mm YTD? Got to be kidding right?
77mm YTD here in Mitcham, and im only 5km in a straight line from Burwood.... Not saying you are telling porkies Instability, but geeeeeezzzzz that is a huge difference for such a small distance.
Was home today looking after the 14mth old, so we went for a drive up to Warburton. Nice and damp still this morning, especially around Wandin (very drizzly at 10.30am). Area looking nice and green, looking forward to riding along the Warburton trail this weekend. Decided to not venture up to Donna Buang, instead went towards East Warburton where I found a nice spot next to the Yarra. Only took a number of photos, so I'll show one.
