Perhaps the muggiest day in Maffra in my life today. After a couple of drizzly showers overnight/early morning, scattered showers today accumulated 9mm since last night so an event total of 17.25mm.
Currently 25C with 89% RH - thats a 24C dewpoint by the Psych chart which is very improbable for our location in Australia. BUT - I drove home from the LV with the aircon on needing to use the wipers to scrape away condensation off the outside of the windscreen at 100K/Hr! Then when I got out of the car at home my glasses immediately fogged totally. This is what I experienced in Mackay during mid Jan/Feb mornings!!!!!
Clouds are inching in from the N, baro fairly steady at 1007 hPa and hoping for a shower or two tonight but I guess would have to be lucky in the lee of the ranges in this present setup. Another night ahead under ceiling fan and appreciating a cold beer atm!
My previously stated hope that we can accumulate 35mm looks to be ontrack still when the band gets pushed across us on Friday, so very happy.
We have Lake Glenmaggie at 91.5% full, the holiday makers would prefer it to be in the lower 80's (far more sandy beach areas) - and now it will near-fill again by the weekend after. Too much of a good thing but none of them would swap the conditions to the miniscule puddle and dust squalls that the die-hard continued to brave out for their annual holidays over the past 15 years!!
La Nino, gotta love it down here (the poor Queenslanders are paying for our fortune instead though...).
