14.4mm here this afternoon, in just 10 minutes apparently.

Another line approaching. It will be interesting to see how much we get from that. Particularly if it back builds, with the trajectory it is taking currently it will slide through us from NE to SW as it passes through in a SE direction.

Only 6mm here. but I can imagine other areas nearby scored much higher totals.

More storms brewing to our North again.

21mm from todays early rain this morning and then the direct hit this afternoon.
Event total now stands at 30mm.
Lots of water between Box Hill and Doncaster East, plenty of potholes appearing on the main roads.

Huge watch on the next round of activity given its trajectory plus additional heating.

Would not be suprised if that report of 112mm or 4.5 inches at Pimpinio is correct, drove from Horsham to Pimpinio through some of the heaviest rain ever, sheets of water on fallow paddocks. Huge stationary storm in that part of the world, has now decaded rapidly.

G'day

So whats people opinions over the next couple of hours, will it devolope more with this heating?

The stuff coming down from the north looks the goods. I watched a storm build over healsville this arvo around 2.30 and some really nice cracks of lightning and thunder.

Also just spoke with a farmer in southern nsw where i'm supposed to be going to work next week and he said finley had 2 inches at lunch time :o

Just looked at the radar again, if the stuff out over to the north west of the city and the cell over lake nillahcootie join that could get interesting.

Very warm and sticky outside again.

Cheers

Just spoke to Ryan, he is at Broadford with Peter (didjman).
He has a nice view of both cells but is likely due come close to town, perhaps Flowerdale.
Cells still developing further north with Yarrawonga again showing plenty of sparkies!

I reckon we had 50-75mm at Mooraabbin in abt 20 minutes. Warrigal road between cenre dandy and keys road had 12 inches of water across all lanes at one stage. Fingers crossed that the weatherstation on the roof was recording! will find out tomorrow. Its quite a few grands worth of gear that has been in trial mode for 12 months.

I know Ive said it before but THIS had to be the heaviest rainfall Ive seen in Melbourne. Couold not see the cars in the car park 25 feet away at all! My first greenage for a long time.

LOTS of flooding jobs around Doncaster East especially in low lying spots where the drains in the street haven't coped. Sun out again.

Round 2 is building nicely, can see massive convection going up to the NW.

And the complex heading into Alexandra also has convection ahead of it, , though not as big as the stuff to the NW. Both complex's appear to be almost merging, should be an interesting hour coming up.

7mm recorded here at home, pity there is nowhere to position a rain gauge at work. The BOM Laverton station reads 15mm from this afternoons storm, but I believe we got alot more than that in West Sunshine.

A specific STW should be out for that storm may cause damage and looks to be heading directly South towards some of the Western suburbs!
