Light rain beginning to fall here in the past 15 mins. The low cloud level has really cleared off a bit now and has exposed a darker slab of mid-level cloud approaching from the East.
Cells appear to be firing in C Vic now. Should be an entertaining drive back to Melb at least...
I am located in Yea (recently moved back from Melbourne), its just starting to rain here now and its looking quite dark. We have some rumbles last night (late arvo) followed by a massive BOOM which took out our power for a short time.
Hello & welcome!
I can see it out your way, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you get a few rumbles very, very shortly.
There's some really nice towers out in that direction.
Curiously, we've just picked up a gentle wly breeze ahead of the rain coming in from the east.

Interesting that storms have delivered up to 16mm in Mildura since 9 AM. Infact, 9mm of that in the last 30 mins.
Heavy showers currently pretruding their way down from the northeast towards central Victoria ahead of rain areas. Some of these will become lightning active this afternoon. Also watch western Victoria later this afternoon for cell development.
Lots of convection getting organised down here currently, particularly now since the sun is out. Hopefully things can get going. Geelong cell earlier shows that it can.

Quite a lot of showers developing now with maybe the odd rumble across Melbourne. Plenty more back in the southern slopes of the eastern ranges that will come through as well. Local falls of 10-15mm possible, especially over the NE and N suburbs and the backside of the Dandenongs.
26C here and if we can rise a couple of more degrees then it may be on!
Will be watching closely a line thats developing from Penola - Horsham - Swan Hill - Griffith. Also watching a line that looks to be developin from about Penola - Nhil - Mildura.
Heaps of activity developing this afternoon.

Certainly a nice convegence zone between the S winds and the ENE breeze upstairs.
Im in the city and just watched the cells dumping on the Dandenongs and outer eastern suburbs. As the precip moved south westerly a base feature emerged on the northern side (beyond Doncaster) and drew chunky scud into some funky shapes below the updraft. The scud formed a very blocky cloud directly below (and the same size as) but never made full connection with the updraft base. Was really cool to watch evolve over 5mins or so.
