60? Would've thought ~180km. Raise a valid point though. Maryborough is on ~45mm and is 60km away
just guessing haha.. Yeah the difference is significant in 60km away.

I'm now on the road and will have next to no internet coverage.
If anyone would be so kind as to sms me updates if there's anything happening, the number is 0408 128 244.
I'm heading towards Wallan & will decide which direction from there.
Looks like East for cells & development, or North for a few sparkies... Decisions decisions...

Lovely steady rain here all day so far. Just got back from a jaunt to Newham and a quick walk in the garden up on the mount, only 9.9C up there. It felt really cold after the last few sunny warm days. 12.3C here in soggy Macedon.
Home- "Shepherd's Bush" at Mt Macedon. 870m
Work- "Bolobek" at Macedon. 430m

Convective activity seems to be beginning in East Central now.

Yes ILS, visible on Doppler first and then starting to show up as echoes.

Interesting for two things, first off the rain out west of Melbourne has stalled and is running the system behind time by a bit, and also the convective activity to our NE is edging SW and should converge with the rain band and erupt in the next few hours.

Meanwhile GFS says we'll miss out altogether on anything from the west or the east. But if it does converge then maybe we'll get caned?

I'm concerned that increasingly cold conditions and now a southerly at the surface will snuff out anything that comes our way. I'm sounding pessimistic but it NEVER rains much here when a southerly is blowing.

Stopped rain here, BOM still forecasting heavy falls through to tomorrow morning, GFS not intersted at all, I guess it a wait and see.

I have to admit I did expect to have the heavy rain earlier than this. Still expect it to come tonight, but it would have been more ideal for it to come in daylight hours (it still may but it has just stalled big time west of the CBD). Could still get an absolute heap overnight, but will be an interesting one to watch.

This low/trough hasn't exactly bombed either. A rising 1010 HPa is pretty weak, particularly in spring.

Almost 38mm here so far! lovely to see the western subs fairing so well. Has not really let up all day.

I reckon we might get 50mm + here which is really unheard of in the western desert!

I am still keeping my fingers crossed for the Northern system to make its way down from Hay to go across Seymour. If anything, we will in for a nice lightning display. As my daughter often states "Please stay away sheep lightning". lol.

We got nice chilly Southerly's blowing through Seymour right now, cold and cold. Drop us about 7 degrees and the mercury still gets lower. Hoping this changes soon. :-)

Rain stalled to the west and now it doesn't look like anything here for hours - i thought this part to the day (afternoon) was supposed to be 'heavy rain'? Maybe it will come.
Go the bombersss!
