Slight weakening in the last frame be interesting how it maintains itself now that it heads into the suburbs of Melbourne. Looks like it will miss me just North of me.
Gisborne is going to be headline news tonight. I would expect widespread damage to cars, houses and businesses. Already reports from family members of large hail north of Gisborne and that's before the core hit.
Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology
Victoria Regional Office
TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING - MELBOURNE AREA
for DESTRUCTIVE WIND, FLASH FLOODING and LARGE HAILSTONES
For people in the
Northern and parts of the
Inner,
Eastern and
Western Local Warning Areas.
Issued at 4:04 pm Sunday, 7 November 2010.
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 4:05 pm, a very dangerous thunderstorm
was detected on weather radar near Mt Macedon and the area northwest of
Gisborne. This thunderstorm is moving towards the southeast. This very dangerous
thunderstorm is forecast to affect Craigieburn, Gisborne and Sunbury by 4:35 pm
and Broadmeadows, Greensborough and Preston by 5:05 pm.
Destructive winds, very heavy rainfall, flash flooding and large hailstones are
likely.
Little spits of rain here, sky has gone blue-black to the west and the wind has picked up and is very swirly. Can certainly feel the shift in pressure in the air
Interesting that there is now a whole line of rain from Bass Strait all the way up to Seymour, and pretty much the only gap is over the western suburbs of Melbourne!!!!
I'm glad not to be in the firing line again, although it's weakening, we've all see them reform and smash us very quickly. Stay safe to all in the danger zone!!!
Not to mention change direction.

While we were all focused to our north, Corio Bay now has a nice line, this will probably hit the southern Mornington Peninsula with some good rain and possibly hail as well
