Some tremendous flangs and widespread flooding around Elgar Road and Blackburn Road.
Will check the gauge after this band has passed.
Edit: Kudos to Channel 9 for posting the STW on the screen whilst RPA was on
It's also become very squally here now towards the tail end of this system, it's blowing a gale and raining sideways, just when you think it's over it buckets down yet again
all over here by the bay but my lord what a downpour that first line was - haven't seen that for a long time, looking at the moorabbin AWS it recived 10mm in 30mins and most of that I would suspect came in the 5mins when the main line hit because that was brutal!
Nearly all roads where sheets of water and the crossroads were torrents!
Temp's dropped back from 18 degrees to a chilly 12 degrees as the squall line came through. Still heavy rain but the wind gusts have eased. What a great night for everyone storm-watch wise
Sounds like a crazy night in the burbs! we have only had about 12mm here, 9 through the day and a bit of a downpour a little while ago
It is still 16C here, warmer than melbournes east atm
Home- "Shepherd's Bush" at Mt Macedon. 870m
Work- "Bolobek" at Macedon. 430m
Wind has really intensified on the back end as it comes thru. Wish I could get a pic of the rain being blown about by the wind as it comes down - its illuminated by the arc lights on the aths reserve in Elgar Rd - its amazing to watch
Oh I love this forum! Stuck in boring Sydney this week, but it's been great to see everyone's experiences on here. Timster - I love the picture you posted earlier this evening, very dramatic.
Keep the picture coming guys, only thing keeping me sane in my hotel tonight...
