any chance of action in the wesyern burbs. Me thinks not, as there is no clearance here. I will live in hope that a nice cell slips my way. still real muggy out here. ;)

Well, we've got thunder now through the fog. Cell at it's current track looks to be missing me to the west by around 5km.

Where is here samueliza? I'm in Caroline Springs here & I tend to agree, no clearance here either. Although as I said last night during my initial doubts, anything can happen! :frogjump:
Caroline Springs, Melbourne's meteorological boredom zone.

Happy New Year all :applause:

Wow, it feels like I am on some sort of strange, bizarro planet here in Ballan. It's been a pea-soup fog day today, and I now have massive rumbles occuring right on top of me! Can't see a tootin' thing (visibility level at about 50 metres), but the thunder is deafening!

The rain has now made it through the soup, it is hammering down :D

Threatening, threatening. rain getting heavier with some large drops. Radar shows a chance I could get hit by the core here with back building and also building east. A few of those 'jet' rumbles that Dagget reported but thunder has slacked off now. Light mist softened the intensity of the thunder heaps.

My word .... 8mm in just over 10 minutes!!

It just proves that, if one is fortunate enough to find his/herself directly under one of these powerful cores, they will receive a decent ol' drop!

Right at the end of the storm it started hailing very briefly and the largest hailstone was 2.5cm. Rain was very heavy for a period but nothing exceptional. About to check the gauge now.
