Certainly lightning up here to my N and NW, bit unexpected as I have cursing this warm weather, when will it ever end.

Cant wait to see your pics guys from the storm over the city.

Lightning was very sporadic up here. And mostly cc. Only saw 10-15cg's in 2 hours. Got 1 shot that im stoked with however. Will put up later. Have to head out till 11pm now. Hears hoping it will continue on later tonight.... :)

Gee some of those South eastern subs are getting absolutely smashed. Some of you guys must have been under orange/red for about 90 minutes now.

Hey Ricky, IMHO I don't think you've missed much photographically down here in the smoke. The light show is impressive, but most of the lightning has been CCs and embedded in the clouds or the rain curtain. It lights up the sky, but there is no real structure, so its not at all photogenic - just bright sheets.

For my fellow friends in the outer eastern suburbs, at this pace and if the cells up near Kilmore don't die, we will get some action at around 10pm.

Yeh too far east here. Magnificent display, nice to be able to sit back and enjoy the show. Hoping to get under one :)

Unfortunately I'm just too far north too, and the rain has missed me completey (so far). The moon and stars are out towards the NW, with magnificent CC's to the SE. At one point they were happening every 5 seconds...sensational!! I ate dinner by candle light with all the blinds open so I could watch...brilliant! Not much thunder at all, unfortunately, but great to watch!

ILS forget about that there are towers going up almost overhead to my NW, just seen them in the lightning. Mid level deck also rapidly developing...

Still belting down here, unfortunately my PC crashed during the middle of storm so not certain how much rain we have had. Will have to check manual gauges when the rain stops. outside gauges when the rain stops. Well over 30mm's now i think :D

general light to moderate rain here, no wind. Looks like it is dying down for the night out west. The heat is going. Wouldn't be surprised if there is pea soup fog tomorrow.
