That's crazy rain for my spot, does that sound about right? Missing all the action!!!
Every chance, plenty of 30-40mm+ falls in that general area. We're on 31mm here since 7am, and we missed the worst (best?) of it.

Awesome event rainwise. For many the best fall in six to nine months. Too late for crops but water for gardens, dam, tanks etc and puts the fire season back a couple of weeks. I reckon the progs nailed it. Lots of storms, but real feature for central was the high moisture levels so always going to be embed dumpers rather than severe storms with hail/strong winds. Some of the rainfall rates were certainly extreme.

Down here for TAS, just a really good solid rain. 25mm here for the week. Very welcome after a few drier weeks.

Week ahead looks a bit dull, then a sharp cold outbreak for late next week.

34mm for the past couple of days here, taking us up to 49mm MTD.

Definitely tropical-like yesterday with it so warm, humid, and unstable. Had some nice storms come through here in the afternoon with a few good torrential bursts. Would be great if our summers were like this.

Awesome event all round. Bit of a quiet week ahead, and quite warm before a decent but fairly dry cold outbreak around Thursday. Some snow on the mountains, though more so in Tasmania.

Btw one thing I had missed on the system was how exceptionally warm the air is on the backside. 26C at Devenport in northern Tasmania with lots of low to mid 20s for northern TAS. The 26C breaks the old October record by more than a degree. That site has been around for thirty years and of course those are the hottest years in a very long time, so that’s a quite remarkable record.

I captured this in the morning. Is it the rare Kelvin–Helmholtz cloud?

Guess time for a new thread. Looks pretty good for fronts across TAS, but not a lot for the mainland. Front around late Sunday could have a bit more of a punch.
