Progs are very solid. Big storms out west atm. Tomorrow looks to me to be dominated by widespread rain. The low slips southeast from near Mt Gambier tonight to east of Tasmania about this time tomorrow. Heaviest falls will be to the northeast and southwest of the low as its slide on the path.

Expecting about and inch here and similar for Melbourne. Heaviest falls likely for northeast Victoria and northern Tasmania.

Some of those storms with the heat in SA are impressive. Apparently the 43.7C at Coober Pedy Airport is the hottest October temperature in about 25 years so not quite a record but up there, and quite possibly an early season record.

Massive plumes showing on the sat pic SE SA/NW Vic look incredible as does the current radar for the same area.

I'm a little concerned for the NE tomorrow. Could the second tornado in a couple of months happen?

Huge area of thundery rain moving across eastern SA and W/NW Vic atm sliding SE so wet morning for much of Vic to come
Already 10-15mm in the Mallee and still pouring with hours of rain to come plus they have had had heaps of lightning big storms up there even bigger in SA with 137km/h gusts at Port Pire :o

20-40mm for much of the state next 24 hours, if only this happened 6 weeks ago crops be saved but to late now :( :(

Melb should be widespread rain early morning, stopping around lunch then showers and thunderstorms arvo evening
30mm should fall here wet 30 hours could be 40/50mm in wet spots of east central yarra ranges dandys etc.

Big severe stroms in south NSW and NE Vic east of Echuca to Bendgio tomorrow, big arvo of severe strom big hail big winds and flash flooding rain.

Enjoy the soak and hopefully some more storms tomorrow arvo in melb

Love Spring :D :D
Bring on the heat and stroms

Light rain here this morning. Progs really spraying for eastern Tasmania, as is often the case with northeast infeed. Should be somewhere between 10 and 40mm. Dams have dropped a bit, so hoping for the 40mm ;)

Central VIC looks good, err bad, for storms from early arvo. Bit of a clear slot and trough arrive mid arvo. That said, progs spraying a bit, but still expect pretty widespread falls of 25mm+. Eastern areas will then do well on the southwesterly change. Storms could get nasty on the change.

Lots of reports of crop damage out west. Stupid to see many areas get the first proper rain in near six months, and for it to come with 100km/hr winds and hail. Farmers can’t catch a break with this wacky weather. Decile 1 or 2 during the growing season then play catch up when it’s meant to be drier for harvest.

20mm here overnight. If only it fell a month ago...

It will dry out again quickly next week, so probably not too bad for some.

Great to see the widespread rain, especially across northern and western areas.

12mm here, including the rain we had yesterday afternoon. Lots of gusty winds overnight, but thankfully it seems to have calmed down a bit now. We do have some catching up to do with rainfall, as we're only on 27mm for the month, following a fairly dry few weeks.

Should be an interesting day. Most models have the low tracking across southern Vic, so plenty of instability ahead.

Seem to be in a sweat spot here at work, 12mm so far this morning. Unfortunately only 4mm back at home in Burnside Heights which is where I desperately need a decent drop.

South Eastern suburbs currently copping it. Might need a boat to get down to the island later tonight.

Copping it here at the moment. Nearly an hour of heavy rain. Local flash flooding. Luckily the drain system is pretty good in my area with housing around 15-20 years old.
15mm so far and a fair bit more likely.

Slow start here, with only a mm or so for the 48 hours up until 7am. Was beginning to think this event might have (incredibly) been a fail, we'd been missing everything.

Then another 20mm since 7am, so 24mm for the event (thanks to 3mm earlier in the week). I was thinking earlier in the week that an old inch (25mm) would be a pass mark, so we're going to make it. If the latest STW plays out, might even go significantly past that.
