A hot start to February with gusty winds.

28.8C was the top here for the event with 4mm of rain. Was hoping for a bit more, but not to be.

Still dry here, though mild weather is helping. Very wet on the west coast where some spots have had over 200mm in the past two weeks.

Good to see the rain in the northeast yesterday, but overall a dry system as expected for most. February looks dry atm. Nothing showing at this stage for another week or two except in Tas where we will score a couple of weak fronts.

Long range weather forecasters have been saying for months that February will be be dry and warm, followed by a VERY wet few months as La Nina ramps up again.
I'd say enjoy this weather while it lasts.

Probably time for a new thread. Quite warm then a strong front. Could be a rainband with storms on the front, but progs are pretty jumpy.

Melbourne is pretty likely to see two hot days, but probably fall short of 40C again.
