Managed an even 20mm for the dates, so keeping things wet here.

Certainly amazing to see so much water in store in early July. Just about every big storage statewide except Rocklands is 90% plus. Virtually unprecedented for this time of year.

Cracking squally change this arvo across Tas. Moved really fast so rainfall totals haven’t been high but really quick 5-10mm and wind gust over 100km/hr. Tiny bit of snow on the mountain following the change, though temps are pretty marginal.

Have another front for tomorrow. These systems are largely missing VIC which sits in a broad fairly moist westerly stream.

Mild northwesterlies are really piling up totals about the higher ranges in Vic. 15mm more today at Buller.

Few storm surge reports from the weekend. Very lucky the system weakened a bit compared to the early models runs. The levels are currently about a once in three year event. By 2050 this type of water level will be something close to once per month around Melbourne.

Welcome 9mm in the gauge this morning. Westerly stream is now flattening so basically now a long mild stretch. Perhaps the new thread.

Struggling to see winter return atm. Nothing really below average in the next ten plus days.

Yep. Out of all the seasons, winter is the most uninteresting. Cold but not quite cold enough for snow, but sure damn feels like it sometimes with the windchill.

I wish we had a climate more like Seattle or Vancouver. Mainly mild winters with the occasional snowfall or two

14C at 6am at our place in far southern TAS. That’s 2C above our average max for this time of year, and about 10C above our average minimum. This is bonkers. We still haven’t had a single cold day all year. Chilliest max was 10.5C which is barely below average.

The mountain is snow free again.
