Mild almost warm and dull one here today. 0.2mm in the gauge and a max of 17C.

Some showers very late tomorrow here. Mainly a north facing slopes system this one. Looks nasty for northern vic and tas with heaps of warnings posted. A crazy amplitude to this system with some record lows in southwest WA and record highs in northern parts. Crazy.

Big soaking system this 1 will set up farmers for the winter in some locations, with widespread mod to heavy rain across northern and western Vic

Widespread 30 to 50mm for northern and western Vic closer to 50 to 100mm for north slopes and ranges and NE with 120mm possible with training Stroms and aboiut the Alps

Huge system for June something you see in spring in wet years not early winter warm humid stormy love it

Showers and thunderstorms explode over SA and NW Vic tonight becoming widespread heavy and severe in the morning tending to rain and embedded stroms during the day and spredaing eastwards

Severe thunderstroms re develop again in western Vic tormorrow arvo with heavy rain hail and damgaing winds could see few supercells and maybe even a torndao out there tomorrow if all things align big day for June Crazy

Many will see months worth of rain some in NW Vic up to a winters worth of rain love it.

Only 10 to 20mm for Melb if that in some spots and windy as tomorrow too if this is winter i will take it spring alreday love it
Bring on the heat and stroms

Really split the states. Big falls north vic and tas. Dry or almost dry south. Will fill in a bit, but probably even stronger rainshadows that all the progs had. Great for the farmers in some parts, not so much in other.

Btw watch the Mallee. Big storms including a tornado southwest of Mildura. Would expect them to fade as the sun goes down but still very active.

Lots of record temperatures with this. Small number of cold records in WA then dozens of warm records through the eastern and northern parts. That warmth is not going away, and will now hang out in northern Australia for then next ten days. If we get another long fetch northerly will sweep down again. Hearing a few crops in northern NSW and Queensland are starting to feel the effects of the dry and frost and now warmth.

As I type, have AM radio on - static from storms in NW vic sounds like a summer BBQ!! Amazing for June!!

PS: hoping to be woken up by light/sound show

Things are starting to get wild here. Thunder, lightning, heavy rain, strong winds... Temp has even gone up a degree to 15.4c - some tropical energy in this one.

Nearly 30mm so far today.

Some big storms in the Mallee. Mildura just had 20mm in 30min (38mm so far today).

We're now up to 32mm and there's a mean looking beast of a storm cell heading our way from the NW.

23mm here today despite rain-shadowing; plenty of 30mm + falls just a few km north, while a mate in Bacchus has had a mere 4mm. Certainly shows that north/south gradient, although the rain has (thankfully) snuck further south than it often does in these setups. Now on 25.5mm for the dates.

Mt William in the Grampians now on 87mm for the last 36 hours - impressive!

It will be interesting to see how all these totals look at 9am tomorrow; rain isn't backing off yet!

Windy and rainy here last hour should go on and off all night but only 10 to 20mm if that

39mm in Mildura :o :o :o after 11mm 2 days ago Huge falls up there.

Central ranges also had alot with more to come many will have 50mm plus by tomorrow morning some in the 80 to 100mm range

Lots record cold in WA too some places had there coldest day on record for any month amazing

If this is winter keep it coming lol such welcome rain for so many inland areas that need it great for so many on the land set them up for winter and possible the season for some

14mm here, plus what seems like a never-ending strong and gusty northerly wind. We were rain shadowed for a fair chunk of the day, as was Melbourne, but rain broke through later this afternoon and evening. Currently, a heavy band is approaching from the NW. I just heard a big clap of thunder, so it will be interesting to see how it all goes crossing the ranges.

It’s also extremely mild, as SB noted. The temp has gone up slightly in the past hour or two and currently sits at 15.2c, which seems bizarre for the time of year.

Rain is thumping down now.
It's so weird to be so warm in June. 12.3° at 11pm at Mt Macedon in June is unforgivable.

100mm along the northern tier. Less than 5mm in the southeast. Progs picked it. Next system please. These northwestly systems suck in southern Tasmania 🤣 Need more easterly in it.

Similar story for VIC.
