Not cold at all here. A warm 3c now after it got to 1c at 7pm. Not much rain in sight, although EC thinks there might be some scraps next week.
My best guess is blocking highs for a few weeks then a barrage of strong cold fronts in the second half of August.

Impressively cold night: a rare white frost and -1C here, many subzero temps in Melbourne - even quite close to the coast - and reports of -15C at Charlottes Pass in the Snowys. Sounds about right with Perisher registering -11.2C and Charlottes Pass renowned for its localised frost hollow effect.

Another mild morning here - currently 4c. No frost. We had a light frost yesterday. As soon as the winds go Southeasterly the temp rises and we're hotter than Melbourne.
Could be a sneaky cold front on Monday. EC is very optimistic for a crop-saving drop of rain across the Wimmera and parts of the Mallee and Nthn Country.

WATL now has 25-50mm for a decent area of the west to round out the month; quite an upgrade from yesterday.

Another frost here this morning with the temp dipping to -1.4c overnight. Not quite as stunning as yesterday, when we had an amazing frost and a temp of -2.3c. We're often subject to inversions here, so getting a couple of subzero nights in a row is not all that common.
A change happening for the weekend as we go back into northerlies, cloud and some showers about. Models are a bit uneven for the week ahead, but rainfall is generally looking better for many areas, including areas north of the divide.

Coldstream has a diurnal range of 20.3 degrees today (-3.7 min 16.6 max)
This must be close to a record for winter surely?

Melbourne Olympic Park has officially recorded 4 consecutive minima under 5 degrees!
That must be highly unusual in the past decade.

No idea what happened to the rain that was predicted today. Another fail. Mini-drought continues.

Sky was odd this am although it didn’t really happen here either, little bit at sun down, not what I’d call rain.

We got solid rain after sunset yesterday. A very welcome 14mm all up.
Looks like a similar amount possible on Monday. Perhaps the -ve IOD is starting to kick things into gear?

Nice total! A mere rain-shadowed 3mm here. Much more only a little further north and west.

A modest 4.4mm here, also rain shadowed. Hopefully a bit more to come tomorrow.
Feeling sort of spring-like this afternoon. Currently sunny and just over 14c, which is typically around the highest end of the temp range for July here.

12mm today. Just over an inch of rain since Saturday morning which is very very welcome.
Into the Westerlies for much of the rest of the week.

A line of storms out in the Mallee atm. Seems to have been some warm air advected ahead of this front. Could be some fireworks tonight....

Good to see a couple of decent consequtive falls around. We had about 15mm with Sat night and today combined bayside.
Band approaching looks ok if it doesn't break in half. No sign of a possible storm.

16mm in the past 24 hrs. 31mm since Saturday. Mini-drought broken.
The next week looks intriguing. A cold weekend ahead, and some forecast models are throwing up some juicy NW cloudband action afterwards...
