Just had a line of cells emerge from nowhere to our SW. Could be an interesting school pick-up. Very humid.

We have a slow moving storm right on our doorstep. It's dumped 25mm+ about 15km to our SW and very lightning active too...

Missed seeing the action on the radar today. Hopefully you picked up a bit SB.
4mm here overnight with a couple of moderate to heavy showers around 2am, then a misty, cloudy and humid day.

Same weather system but slightly off topic. Massive forecasting fail for south east Queensland despite what media tells us. Forecast of 150-300mm for wide areas for Brisbane and Gold Coast for yesterday and today, yet main totals have been 2 to 5mm. Only some pockets had 50 to 70mm.
BoM still bullish for tomorrow with 100-150mm forecast for Brisbane.
I wish they would simply look at the radar or out the window sometimes

Did alright - 18mm. Quite happy with that.
Next week has heaps of potential too.

Personally I wish they would bugger off altogether & let us in here take care of things.
Caroline Springs, Melbourne's meteorological boredom zone.

Pretty decent model alignment for a big week ahead. 30-70mm quite possible...

It reached 26 degrees at 2.25pm today in Launceston. We have now had 83 consecutive days where our maximum temperature has exceeded 20 degrees.

Still looking pretty sparse for Melbourne over the next 10 days. A few showers here and there but that’s about it.
The late summer snooze continues

Forecast models are bullish this morning for a quite a soaking this coming week here.
My Dad was complaining about his joints aching a lot yesterday - that means it'll rain. Almost guaranteed.
I think we might even get a few drops today by the looks of it. Humid air has pushed in overnight. It was dry and windy yesterday with a grassfire 20km South of here at Harcourt Nth causing some problems...

No end in sight unfortunately just going to get hotter and hotter this coming week.
Same down this end of Tasmania, sick of seeing the glaring sun and dry .

Thick persistent drizzle/rain all day here in Merimbula. No thunder, despite it being forecast.

A few isolated cells popped up this afternoon. Nothing here (yet). Forecasts for Monday-Tuesday still holding.
The situation in Brisbane and SE Qld looks dire.

Unbelievably, given it's a La Nina year and some of the huge rainfalls we've seen in other parts of the nation - here in Ringwood, if we don't get any rain the next 2 days, it will be the driest summer I've ever recorded, in 30 years of records! Just 63mm of rain to date since the start of December (most of that fell in storms after Australia Day). Looks like maybe a few mm on the horizon Tuesday though.
