A river streaming into the dam and tanks overflowing! Brilliant! Which all summers could be like this one!

AV / Karl ... your thoughts on the progression of the low near Adelaide?
Starting to see the wrap around now...what are we looking at? Another 24-36 hours of this event as it heads east?

This rain is fantastic...feels like a stormy wintery night but with a comfortable temp. Rumbles every now and then, I'm loving this.

Rain is now getting heavier.

SAB, Mate if you've been on a bender go sleep it off, it's like drinking and dialing. Just log off and get sorted buddy!

Nice steady rain here for an hours now. I'm just on the very of it getting here, it keeps moving one step forward and two steps back, enjoy Leasy, it sounds like you're having a ball out there :)

Rain has totally died down to small stuff, not very heavy. Lightning and thunder has stopped here - I think the worst is behind me, I can only see moderate rain on the radar heading towards me! Very nice storm! :D

Stuck in hole tonight with rain all around us. Clear (well, high clound with no rain) to my north looking toward Monbulk.

Son and I enjoying the events unfold online, particularly watching the bay effect earlier :)

Good falls in the catchments over the last 24 hours, however, no changes in the levels for the Thompson, Upper Yarra and Cardinia. Perhaps the long weekend has something to do with it.

From the positive side of Berwick - :D

Thanks Tizza! The rain has all but stopped now, and no more thunder and lightning. I wish I still had my rain gauge though so I know what I had, but I reckon easy 50mm! Let's hope it goes well for everybody and there's no more damage! :)

Or perhaps the lying govt has something to do with it...

This will rain for hours and hours, it is truly an awesome day.

Question - does all this rain make the atmosphere over central areas less unstable? I can see some promising cells starting up over the border, wondering if they have a chance of making it down here without flattening out?

The radar looks amazing! Where did all this rain come from all of a sudden! Nice to be on the farm on a night like this thanks to the holiday tomorrow.

Sean, it looks like its going to be a little further East than they think so the rain should continue for a long while yet, it will get dragged South eventually sometime tomorrow if the low decides to move. Too me it looks in no hurry but we await further movement..

I assume this means the catchments will get a good drop, no point all that good rain going to waste on Melbourne ;)
