Well thanks Colin for that information regarding mslp records..I have never been able to find mslp records. What was your source? Apparently there was an mslp record for NZ recently. source WZ forum
Increase in wind here today. Got woollen dog blankets washed and dry.
Hasn't been warm here at the tweed. Minimum of 11.6 deg c at 1am. Coolongatta.Day temp' made it to 22.6deg today
Where is your location colin , getting those warm minimums?

Hi Crikey, it is hard to get certain past records unless you request them from BoM and have the correct Station ID and they don’t charge you. But I found the 1st part on https://www.wunderground.com/blog/weath ... cords.html then when I scrolled down to the credits I noticed the source from Australia was Blair Trewin. As you would know he is on WZ. Or used to be (soon). So I looked up and found his post on http://forum.weatherzone.com.au/ubbthre ... cs/74443/1 where he lists 8 of Australian highest records.

Ken Kato used to get a lot of stats as well but he has all the contacts being a meteorologist. Some stats are easy to get others it is a pain.

Crikey I am at the very Northern suburb of Brisbane, Bracken Ridge. I am 5k’s from Sandgate and we overlook Moreton Bay. Almost the reverse of where RWM is at Wynum.

The coastal areas of SEQ are copping some good wind gusts. 80 km/h at Cape Moreton, 83 km/ h at Double Island Point . 43 km/h here at Bracken Ridge. Trying hard to drop some rain with the swift moving showers today. Been a coolish windy day overall.

Thank you colin very much for that info' on mslp,. I have added that info to blog thread
https://weathercycles.wordpress.com/201 ... mment-8010

Heavy cloud and numerous rain bursts here at the tweed this afternoon. The mid level trough and moist onshore winds performing well together.
Not bad considering that the surface mslp,is 1026.4 hpa at coolongatta
The trough currenrly arriving in WA not corecast to arrive on our coast until early monday morning. Hard to call it a trough as high pressure quickly pencils it out. Might get a bit of precip' from its brief passing

You are welcome Crikey. There is also this site which has a wealth of information. As you scroll down the page you can find the research they have conducted and download the articles. There would be many hours of reading or a research article that you can add to your cool blog.

Anyway the page has is https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Blair_Trewin

Incredible over night lows in the Warwick area. Last few days above 10 C degrees. Overall close to 5 C above normal for our lows. No rain in sight. I can certainly see this being the warmest and driest July on record. Early days however but the upper level winds are not showing much signs of drastically changing anytime soon.

I notice Brisbane hasn't recorded rain now for 28 consecutive days which could stretch to 35 days based on current forecasts. Is that approaching some sort of record?
