Despite the max gust of 40 kph being recorded late in the day at 1624, winds quickly dropped and by 2030, a light northerly was blowing. This northerly drift remained all night, thus keeping out the normal SW land breeze resulting in calm conditions. This allowed local temps to plummet, with the grass min 0.6C, not far from a frost, only 1.2km inland from the Bay.
