10mm for the event here. Was below 0c this morning. Possibly for the last time this year.

Good stuff. There were some pretty 'blobby' showers (to use the technical termMacedonian wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 11:30 am Wow, just went outside to start gardening and it started to snow. I was doubtful last night when they said snow to 700m this morning
3.5° now.

That’s great to hear. Cover down here to about 600 to 700m, though mostly light. All gone at lower elevations with a quick return of mild westerlies today.Macedonian wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 11:30 am Wow, just went outside to start gardening and it started to snow. Showery Sunday though only light showers except along the Snug Tier down here. Up on the Tier a few spots have had nearly 10mm today. There are pockets of rainforest up there so pretty bleak weather often compared to the rest of the region.
Guess new thread time. Early spring heat. Nice beach weather but too soon.

Yes, looks to be a fairly long warm and dry spell coming up, although some of the forecast temps seem way out of place for the start of spring. It’s also not surprising given the broader climate drivers, with the next 6 months likely to bring plenty of extremes.
About 12mm for the event here, including some drizzle early this morning. It started well but unfortunately we picked a persistent gap in the southwesterly wrap around so didn’t get much in the way of follow-up. 14mm for the month. Will need a really good rain event after this dry spell! Otherwise, a good week ahead for outdoor work…

0C this morning. Bit surprised it dropped that low with a bit of wind and plenty of cloud. Cool mostly fine day ahead.
Progs are so warm. Suspect lots of records at risk.

Cool day here today.
As for the coming week or so, that could get nasty heat wise. Possibly our first 20c+ day tomorrow since winter - about a month earlier than last Spring (which was very cold). GFS suggests a chance of 30c+ before the end of this month, and last year that didn't happen until a very late Dec 3rd!
