Well that was a significant mid winter cold weather system, delivered heaps of snow, and valuable rain over large areas of Vic. What a grain crop we look set to deliver this season. Not to mention full dams for our vegetable and dairy production (and maybe the Vic govt might not waste our money on ordering unnecessary water from the Wonthaggi white elephant next financial year?).
Down here in Gippsland, it was a reminder of why this area is often referred as the "Riviera". The NW'ly system provides us the Foehn effect as rain/snow falls on the NW facing side of the ranges.
0.5mm here for this event, we did get one day with a 13.5C max, but that was bookended by todays 20C and 17.5C a few days back.
The Indian Ocean is warming near Indonesia. More rain to come before summer sets in??
