Gee it is a very dry period coming up. Massive HIGH hanging around until May 3rd and though it is a long way out even that change looks weak.
Yep, long dry spell coming up. Turning into a pretty grim start to autumn rain wise. All been showery westerlies which don’t drop much away from the coast and ranges. We’ve done good here, but basically the Dandenongs and south Gippsland hills are the only areas to get about average this month thanks to one big swly cold outbreak.
Showery change moving up on the west coast. Should see a few showers from late morning. Not much if any north of the divide.
1.2mm here yesterday from drizzle over Thursday night. Definitely on the dry side here this month - only 26.2mm in total. May could well be similar for most areas, as I suspect the high pressure dominance will extend well into the month. Might be a few cold nights though.
Very mild to warm scenario on the outlook for Hobart. Same set up as beginning of April unfortunately. Belting down east cost of Qld and NSW whilst we get High pressure blocking any cold fronts and drawing heat down from central Australia all the way to us.
The few days of May pretty warm over 20’s , nowhere as bad as the beginning of April but still crap for 10 days at least?
Not the start wanted this close to Winter .
Scored a cracking band of small coldies this arvo which was quite a surprise. Hail in a couple of them, one rumble and 8mm in the gauge. Was an even better cell just to my north which has dropped a swathe of 10-15mm through the inner to middle eastern burbs. Handy end to the day
One more weak front tomorrow, and another weak front for Monday. Showers again, mainly coastal.
Ridiculously dry up Mansfield way. Bugger all rain for 6-8 weeks now. Our olive grove is due for harvest within 2-3 weeks but fruit is way too small, despite changing colour.
BTW This is BLACKIE now posting as BLACKEE as my profile was lost so I'm using SNIPER's old profile so all historical posts are his.

That’s not good times two Was wondering how the bush was fairing up there.
Ordinary month wrapping up. Southwest coast and the Dandenongs above average but that’s it. 130mm here, about 10mm above average.
1.6mm in the gauge from light showers and fog. Cool day here with max of 11.2C. Chewing through the fire wood pile now
Mild to warm spell coming up now. Not going to be far of May record highs on the weekend. EC has been suggesting it could well pop up into the mid 20s and approach 30C north. Nice for a trip to the beach, but not if you are looking for an autumn break.
Bit of fog here this morning. Scored another 1mm yesterday from drizzle. Month will finish on 137mm. Would put us about Decile 6 or 7 so a bit above are the average of about 120mm. Went for a drive on the weekend and dries out quickly as you go north.
Quite a remarkable year to date with with less than 25mm around Swan Hill near sea level to around 500mm around Wilsons Prom near sea level A tiny bit under 500mm here. In the 490s.
Warm then showers on the progs. Waiting for details to settle down in the Progs.
