Heavy drizzle set in here. 51.6mm for the 24 hours and 52.0mm for the event. Had near 1mm more since 9am. Need just over 10mm to the double ton. Wettest January here in more than 25 years.
Just over 3mm overnight with that line of showers that moved slowly through. A mostly cloudy morning, with a few sunny breaks here.
Checking some PWSs in the area and there are quite a few that recorded more than 80mm yesterday, especially around Sunbury. The Vic Emergency app was lighting up quite a lot yesterday with reports of flooding in that area.
January last year was also wet here, with 146mm. If only every summer was like this.

BANG right on forecast widespread 30 to 50mm for much of the state only far Sw, far east and parts of the Mallee missed out another big rain event for much of the state for summer things are soaked now.
In terms of extent, must be one of the best Jan systems for decades. I see some stations in the NE have recorded 100mm plus as the system moved east.
We ended up with exactly 50mm, so great result and pushes our Jan to 107mm, which is our second best Jan in 25 years here (only 2011 was wetter).
Another 17.2mm's up to 9am today system total 50.8mm's MTD 98.2mm's.
19.6mm's up to 9am at Ballarat Airport system total 56.8mm's MTD 117.8mm's.
Monthly average is 40 mm's. Wettest January at the Airport since 2011 - 206mm's
2nd wettest January since 1963 - 188.6mm's.
So Great start to 2021.
Tas temps today: Cressy 28.2, Devonport 27.5, Launceston 27.8, Friendly Beaches 27.7, Hobart 25.5. Launceston had a very late maximum today of 27.8 at 5.35 pm. Warmer than Adelaide and nearly 6 degrees warmer than Melbourne.
Chilly and spitty morning but nothing further in the gauge. Month finished just shy of 190mm. I can’t confidently tell you when it was last wetter up here as the offical Ferny Creek station opened in 1994 but I think it was January 1991.
The event for Monday and Tuesday looks like being mainly a far northeast and Gippsland event. Could be some heavy falls locally, but once you get to central etc looks to be dribbles.
January MTD look good, though have to feel for the poor people living near Swan Hill

Although in Swan Hill proper they did get a big storm in mid-Dec that dumped over 50mm. Swings and roundabouts.
We ended up with 75mm here. Wettest January since the ridiculous 178mm of 2011, and before that 78mm in 1993. So a once a decade January
Launceston avge max temp this January 24.4, long term avge 24.6. Rainfall this Jan 49.4 mm long term avgs 45.8 mm
Hobart avge max temp this January 22.6, long term avge 21.8. Rainfall this Jan 28.8 mm long term avgs 47.0 mm
Bit of a mini system today that will mainly affect the east. Quite humid, but unfortunately the change pushes through too early and keeps storms to the eastern third of the state. Showers following the change in the south. Nice fog here this morning.
Few spits this morning and a bit of drizzle, but didn’t manage to tip the TBRG. Fantastic system for NSW and east Gippsland. Bit of a wasted system for central and west with the moisture and upper trough failing to link.
Now looking to Friday. Hopefully a proper storm event
