Spoke to soon. Nothing behind it now. Very humid but.

If nothing develops within the next hour or so, then I'm calling an overall fail as well.

Storms nearly never get going when it's cloudy like this, and temp is only 25 degrees.

Let's see how i pans out.

Very frustrating set of circumstances. Expected a decent band of rain by now, but boy is it struggling to develop. Weak trough, weak front, I don’t know, but the moisture is being sucked out over the Tasman/southern ocean before being dumped on us.

There is some development to our west and I can see some cloud pluming on the sat images, but will it develop enough to give us a good fall, I don’t know. At least western areas got a drink

Must have struck it lucky, 16.6 mm in the PWS, 17 - 18 mm in the 2 manual gauges. Rowville closest Melbourne Water site just 9.4 mm.

Been getting heavy showers here the last two hours. 8mm in the gauge (so about 9mm for the event). Sky looks and feels like it could just thump down at any moment. You really have to back the models in the situations, as they rarely all miss a few hours out. They expect it to really fire up the next two hours.

Yet to hear a rumble today, though sound doesn’t travel so well in the murky and thick rain.

Melbourne set a new dewpoint record this morning with 25.1C the best I saw. That’s a degree higher than the previous record sent back in 2011 :o

That band going through Gisborne might get us going. Heading this way.

Fingers crossed that cell which just dumped 24mm on Charlton makes it here. Humid as Darwin atm.

Thick fog has just drifted in here and it has gone very dark. Hoping the radar fills in a bit more as it still seems quite patchy at the moment. The air is definitely loaded with moisture.

Really hoping they're right. It's been trying to rain here all morning with some huge drops but few and far between so far. Had enough of this humidity already!

Coldstream getting close to the Vic dewpoint record with 25C on the latest ob. Drifting in and out of thick fog here. Looks like it’s going to pour down shortly going by the radar.

Rain is teeming down here - thick with large drops. 7.6mm since midnight so far now.

It has cooled off quite a bit, now 18.8c and 18.0c DP..

16 mm here so far today, mostly in the current rain band.
A good rain to soak in, maybe a bit more to come?

Having some heavy bursts here and the rain is thick, so totals are adding up quickly. We’ve just gone past 15mm. It’s spreading down into Melbourne, so quite a wet period on its way. Haven’t heard any thunder here though.
