Chilly max of 7.8C here. Warm air advection kicking in now so expecting a drizzly night.

Looked like about an inch on the ground in Marysville. They have a fascinating micro climate with low level snow quite common as cold air gets trapped in the deep valley. They had a cm or two back in the April cold outbreak which was most unusual for the time of year :D

Could be a second sting in the tail with this system with a dome of seriously cold air passing to the near south of us late Friday. Still attached to the same low. EC has snow to sea level in Tasmania and dropping to about 500m about coastal parts of Vic. A tiny bit further north and it could come good for Vic :?:

Would be nice to live in Marysville right now on the other side of the mountains, we are unlucky to be included in Metro lockdown in this part of the Yarra Ranges. Hopefully those vaccination numbers rise quicker than expected.

Blessed to have some snow within the 10km radius though. :D

Yep. No cases in the Nongs for a year 😢 and still locked up. Does my head in when the eligible in the household have been vaxed for months.

Foggy drizzly night with 3mm more. Clearing now for a day or two. Next front clips us, and touch and go whether we get the really cold air. Currently looks like a near miss. Sea level snow in southern Tasmania if there are showers.

Foggy start to Thursday. Nice day today ahead of a mid arvo front tomorrow. Might get a rumble on the change :D Seriously cold air passing through Tasmania and Bass Strait Friday night into Saturday but looks like missing Vic by about 200km. Snow to sea level in Tasmania’s south. South Vic has snow to about 500m about the coast, so Otways and Prom, but marginal here.

Next week is looking classic La Niña troughy. Guess we will see if that holds.

We had another 7mm in drizzle which mostly fell overnight on Tuesday, which bumped our event total up to 35.5mm.

September total is pretty healthy now, but think its still just under our long term average so the slightly drier than average year continues for us. Hoping we can score another 10mm in tomorrows front to bolster it a bit further.

This Sept is just above average rainfall wise, although NW of here it is quite dry.

Next week is starting to look rather promising. Could well be 30mm+, although the Mallee might miss out again.

Cracker of a front today, but sadly just misses most of Vic. Solid snowfalls in Tasmania to sea level in the south. EC has snow in Hobart, which might settle lightly.

We get the change through here about 1pm, then cold air overnight though not like that to the south. Snowfalls dropping to 500-700m. A chance for a bit the Nongs, and does look a pretty good chance for a the Otways and South Gippsland.

Substantial warm rain event next week. Nice wet end to the month :D

Shall be interesting to see how low it gets around Warburton this time.

Last event was definitely rare, with a little dusting of snow settling in McMahons Creek around 300m asl Tuesday morning.

Rain next week is firming up. Could be 25-40mm here. Great finishing rains for crops around here potentially.

1.4mm here this evening. Nice to have a little cold outbreak anyway, even if it’s not the full blast with snow.

Had a few flurries this morning, along with a heap of graupel. Dipped to 2C with each shower. Another degree or two and would have been a decent cover (again). Nongs used to get a lot of snow, and that final degree or two makes a big difference :( Just shy of 7mm in the gauge.

Reports of flurries to sea level in Tasmania and settling to about 150m. Nice :D Will be there in a few months :D :D :D

Solid potential big rain event for the week ahead with lot of moisture coming in from the north and a low deepening over us. La Niña starting to put on a show :?:

Chilly 8.2C here today. Had one more wet snow shower just after noon. Started at 7C and finished on 3C. All up 2mm more to add to the 7mm overnight. Looks like a cold night out there.

Time for the new thread :D

3.25mm here over past 48 hrs, jeez it went cold today! After the change hit late morning, temps would have been below 10C for a couple of hours I reckon.

14.75mm tallied for this thread. Things very green here, farmers happy for some warm days, .....whenever that will be!?
