Nice weekend here with temps in the high teens. More like late March than two week from May.
Still not really seeing any proper rain. Half decent front on Friday with some cold air but an anticyclonic one with minimal infeed. Will be mainly a coastal and Tasmanian system. Might be some decent ...

Progs have updated and there’s a low about day 14. Guess that gives us 14 days to talk about highs and what might happen.
Friends on the mainland are complaining about having to water gardens in Melbourne and Adelaide in mid May. That’s not great, unless you are in the sprinkler business….

Thread for the upcoming non-event. Lots of highs with light winds and sunshine. Mild perhaps even warm days. Not great for those looking for rain.
Hopefully something will show up in the last week of the month.

Few dribbles here yesterday but didn’t trouble the scorer. Warm front slipped just south of us so we missed out on the drizzle rainband but temps have spiked quickly. 12C at 6am this morning. Hopefully winter goes for more than one day this yer :P
Wall to wall highs now for the mainland. Two week ...

Nice wet night down here. Nearly 10mm in the gauge. Wettest spots around Hobart have got close to 30mm. Lucky to squeeze out a decent fall from this given the absence of an infeed. Still showers here so hopefully a bit more to come.
I’ve never seen such dominant highs before. It’s madness. Sure we ...

Took a while to get started but quite the cold outbreak here this afternoon. Heavy showers, brief hail, blowing sideways at times and snow in the hill down to about 400m atm. Been some solid fall on the ranges and far southwest, locally topping 25mm today. Quite a solid fall of snow on the mountain ...

0.2mm here overnight. Really is struggling to rain.
Hoping for some coldies here today, so maybe a few mms if we get lucky. Bit of rain for southern parts of Victoria and South Australia.
Becoming cooler today. I haven’t looked closely but I’ve heard a heap of records have fallen this week for ...

0.8mm here overnight. Bit more on the mountain. Bumpers falls out west. Like another planet out there. There dams are pretty low so need that to continue.
Warm windy one today. Odd showers here, heavy out west. Victoria’s January like weather continues. Was the warmest April on record and gotta now ...

24C here today. Peak in Hobart area was 25C at Bushy Park. Most numbers within a degree or two of the May record. Heavy falls in the southwest on a decaying front, and showers now spreading to the north coast with some storms. We scored about a minute of heavy rain, but didn’t trouble the score ...

Wow it’s warm this morning. 17C at 6am here. That’s 3C above our average May maximum. Pretty similar across many sites in the southeast. Today’s is probably the warmest day in this sequence, but still going to be mild til mid months at this stage.
Some showers today, locally heavy with thunder in ...

Nice frost here yesterday. That’s probably the last before mid May.
Warm weather just rolls on and dry except for Tasmania.
Twister, record warm is not good. It’s climate change pure and simple and will just keep getting more and more extreme while CO2 increases. It is stressing every ecosystem ...

Chilly morning here with first decent frost. Pretty tbh for here.
Geez it looks dry :( . EC and GFS have nothing for most of southern Australia before mid month. TAS looks better, though not great. Almost every day above average. It’s been by far the warmest 12 months for almost everywhere in ...

Bit of a nothing weather thread with a big high anchored near or east of Victoria deflecting a series of fronts that scrape Tasmania. Will be warm, likely peaking in the mid 20s in southern Victoria and perhaps close to 30C in northern parts. Tasmania will be more high teens to perhaps 20C ...

Been cold here too Gordon. 13C for a max the last three days. Quite a shock after the 20s that we had for much of the month. Warm has been good for grass growth with the paddock looking in great shape.
Guess new thread. Gonna be warm, perhaps near record warm to start May.

Geez what an odd ball day Tuesday was. Convective showers coming in for the south or southeast around Adelaide, Hobart, Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. Slow moving and thumpers so if you got one they delivered.
Clearing now, and last day of April so that’s basically the month wrapped. Another lean ...

Nice rainy 24 hours here with nearly 12mm. Locally topped 20mm, so a late save for what was shaping up as a very ordinary April. Not quite hit the average but close, perhaps 2-5mm short.
Good to see solid falls overnight in far east Gippsland and parts of west central. Some areas will get close to ...

Front come through overnight and has stalled over the top of us. Been thick drizzle all night, and still coming :)
7mm so far down here, and progs have it continuing for the rest of the day. Fingers crossed :) Still some way from the monthly average, but could get close if we get on the upper end ...

Bit of a sneaky cold pool today which pushes into the Tasman Sea and brings another dose of showers on the east coast. Then comes a big high. Showers later today will be slow moving so if you get one could add up. Will also be hit and miss.
We’ve had 0.2mm down here so far, so a fail currently ...

About 1/3 of the Vic scored. Rest a bit of a dud unfortunately. Good to see north central up towards the Wimmera do well. Elsewhere, the dry continues.
Not much for TAS apart from the far north and far southwest where there was locally 20mm plus.
Headed into an easterly set up which should eastern ...
