Both EC and GFS speeding up Tuesday’s front. Might cut the warm wave a day short.
Rain for Tas is tending to increase, and Vic might also see something middle of next week. Anything welcome as we face the triple wamy of a positive IOD, developing El Niño and record global temps.

29C in Mildura and 25C at Campania the tops today. TAS number only a couple of degrees below early season records. Had 24C here today which is about 9C above average.
Tomorrow looks similar, perhaps a touch higher.

Liking the looks of the rain with this event for TAS. Ironical that the northwest flow which will bring record warmth to the mainland including high (or higher than high) fire danger will stream multiple bands of rain over Tas. We very much need it, so fingers are crossed. Progs otherwise not changi...

First warm one in the sequence. 22 to 24C around metro, close to the highest in the state. Temps ended up a degree or two above the forecast which is interesting. Might be a pattern - dry soils - or just one of those random things. Cooler down here in Tas, with just 17C at our place. Tried to rain a...

Thread for a long, possibly record breaking warm to hot spell. Currently looks like it will last for ten days over inland areas, with perhaps a couple of short lived cooler spells in coastal parts. TAS goes in an out of the earth air, so while above average will see some solid changes, and ironicall...

Another cracking frost this morning then then rather balmy afternoon. Just shy of 17C. Glorious weather for early spring though definitely needing some rain here now. Decent system for the week ahead

Cool start to spring here with 13C. Nice weekend to come.
If EC sticks the week ahead is going to bring some pretty wild weather. It’s been very jumpy so guess we will see

The resorts closing early are closing too early and losing money at their own peril. Snow is not done just yet. I have no idea who they're listening to but their (most likely greenies) consultants need to be sacked and replaced with people who think logically. They have no snow. It’s been a record ...

Showery one to finish winter down here with a mm in the gauge. Scored a little bit of hail mid arvo. Mountain picked up a dusting which is good to see. Slowly clearing then a blustery and quite warm start to next week. Another westerly front to follow. Patterns quite progressive atm, but overall pre...

Few showers here the last 24 hours but didn’t quite tip the gauge. Winter ends how it’s been most days with a mild one. Apparently Baw Baw, Lake Mt and Mt Selwyn are closing this weekend for the year. Don’t know I’ve seen that before. Historically El Niño and positive IOD years tend to be dry but sn...

Rainy night with 5mm. Good to get a bit, but monthly total still sits below 40mm 😩 Few showers to come today. Bit underwhelming totals for much of VIC, but good falls for western Tas. Should be some chunky showers today for southern VIC east of the city and the western third of TAS. Airmass slowly c...
