Finally scored a half decent event down here with heavy showers with brief hail for Saturday. 12mm so far, with more to come. Climbed Mt Wellington earlier and was some have decent spells of blizzard conditions, though not sticking too well with warm sun and warm ground. Another front for late tomor...

Looks like a wet 24 hours for much of VIC with the first part of the system. Showers for western Tas, but not a whole lot through the east. A good follow-up system for those who scored last week. Funny how Victoria keeps flip flopping from dry to wet to dry this year. A lot of luck involved. Most th...

Looks like a productive spell of westerlies ahead with a front and low on Wednesday followed by a front a day til next week. Will add up in southern Victoria and western Tasmania, with lighter falls elsewhere. Temps should be cool enough for some snow in the alps. With cold air and fronts often time...

Finished with just less than 10mm. Was never our system. Too far north and east. Now looking to the next week which looks more classically El Niño with fairly dry westerly systems which means a very wet west coast for TAS, but most other spots not a lot beyond showers. Some chance for storms mid wee...

Just wow! arriving at Mansfield to find just shy of 140mm in the Nylex. This is an event total. Lake Eildon will surely exceed 100% tomorrow. Outflows are around 20k ml per day with inflows peaking around 120k ml per day around now.Unbelievable stuff :o Jeepers that’s a good falls. Awesome to see t...

Heaps of daily record falls through the eastern third of VIC. I didn’t have the record hot and dry September (and July to September followed by record rainfall on the 2023 climate bingo. Crazy flip. Good for putting a lengthy pause on the fire season in eastern Vic which is excellent news. In the No...

Ripper event for the eastern half of VIC. Probably excessive for parts of the northeast. Progs basically nailed the gradient with as little as 5mm in the western burbs but over 50mm in the east. That heat is extraordinary. No wonder the fires in Gippsland took a big run overnight 😬 Unfortunately a m...

Thread for the coming low. Looks like the best rainfall event for some months, perhaps locally a year. Biggest falls through the eastern third of VIC and northeast Tas, but hopefully everyone gets a bit.
Will be a notable snow event on the tail end, though being mid spring it won’t stick for long.

Hard to know what the next thread is. Weather is all over the shop this next ten days. Mild then hot, possible record hot for the time of year. Had missed it, but Melbourne will smash the driest July to September on record. Also record warm. Really sets the state up for early fires if it doesn’t rai...
