Guess everyone’s is tired of talking about endlessly perfect weather :? Tuesday here was a perfect 20C, yesterday a perfect 25C and today, well perfect and also Friday. Not so nice for the weekend. VIC mid to high 30 pretty widespread and low 40s in the north. The change pushed through much of TAS a...

Geez it looks hot for northern Vic, and intermittently for southern parts. Should go above 38C in Mildura on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and maybe Tuesday and even then nothing to flush it away. Suspect we are headed for lots of heat records if this pattern doesn’t break soon. Globally it’s...

Wild day on Sunday in Tas. Fires in the north, though thankfully seem to have been pulled up pretty quickly, and hurricane like winds in the exposed south with heavy shower, small hail and snow on the mountain. Was quite a dry air stream so things really got shreaded by the ranges. Max here of just ...

Really does feel like it’s forgotten how to rain, and week ahead doesn’t hold a lot of promise. Also looks to be warm to hot, particularly for VIC.
Some light showers for Sunday, heavier in western TAS, then back to highs.

Cracking storm here last night, with heaps of CG. Mostly light falls, but we got one intense burst at midnight with a few spot around me scoring nearly 10mm, and just over 4mm here. Hobart scored 1.8mm. Means the month crept up to 4.2mm. Iroincially it fell on the 29th so it was the driest 28 days o...

Avoid the worst of it down here. Max of 30C with a few light showers this evening. Quite a few rumbles but the serious rain is slipping south. Nasty day for VIC. Fortunately cloud clearance was later for central areas. Peak of 43.8C in the northwest is not a record, but is getting close for the time...

Nice day for most today. 25C here. Tomorrow’s the hot one. Dry conditions for VIC and wind will make it pretty unpleasant. Fires a continued worry with lots of warnings up. Some remarkable numbers the last few days over inland OZ which highlight what a nasty airmass this is. Fortunately stays mostly...

Nothing really changing in the progs for VIC. Going to be nasty heat in the northwest. EC has temps approaching 45C which I’d expect is a late season record. Southern VIC, mostly mid to high 30s. Gusty winds and low humidity on Wednesday. A bad day for those in the bush. TAS is cooler and a bit of r...

Another stinker setting up for Victoria peaking on Wednesday with temps well above 40C in northern areas. Likely near 40C at peak in the south. For TAS, more warm and we get some rain. Could well see some late season records on northern Vic and adjacent parts of SA and NSW. Progs starting to latch o...

Much cooler here finally, but no rain :( Fortunately next week looks quite promising for TAS, but not so much for VIC. Some. Ok falls for western TAS with the usual wet spots getting over 20mm. Btw had slipped under my radar that Bruny Island got to 37.1C on Thursday. That’s not a record, but it’s c...

Utterly horrible day here. 36C, Smokey skies from a big fire in the upper Derwent Valley and gusty swirling winds. Starting to look a bit b grade disaster movie around here with every thing crisped right off now with almost no rain for a month. Nasty back in VIC, though a lucky few got a storm. Some...

Hot one yesterday here with 29C. Expect about 34C here today which will be the high point for summer. Horribly dry here now. Hobart is currently running driest February on record, while weve had 8mm so not as bad but still grim. Late change for all of us. Looks like 7pm give or take for Melbourne an...

Good to see some get lucky yesterday. Down here mid level rubbish killed the convection just after noon. Heavy falls for the northeast corner of TAS. Those storms for Victoria were remarkable. Pulse storms with slow movement so hit and miss. Odd spot around 40mm but neighbouring suburbs seeing zero....

Looks like a long warm to hot and mostly dry sequence head. Shots of fairly hot air, though fortunately we escape the record heat that sits over WA. Looks like it will cap off a very dry and hot month for most of us. Not really seeing much rain. Odd shower for eastern areas initially, then the odd s...
