That would be right, up in shepp last week, big storms near geelong. Now back in geelong, storms near shepp.ah well the sound of rain on the tin roof will have to suffice for now. nice ripples in the sky towards the n.west here atm.

Rain going nuts here in shepp,gutters cant cope with this and the towels are out. Serious flash flooding for sure around here. we were sitting on 7mm in the gauge until this hit. loud booming thunder now as well. lawns and paths around our house under water

plenty of cc's around, clouds approaching have that greenish tinge spoken about earlier .

constant sound of thunder here now in shepparton, went outside to have a look and cant see any lightning yet. looking very dark towards the SW

aust Look out for some flash flooding around here. It is still friggen pouring! Pretty constant rolls of thunder although not as loud now. Edit : Holy crap! BANG Computer is going off for a while. Hope its not too bad andy lightning tracker almost showing a 'V' for vic at the moment along the trough...

Geelong about to get smashed-should have just stayed down there! Sun trying to come out here in shepp now -sit back and wait time. Looks like if you get caught under anything reddish on the wz radar then look out. the storms near renmark must be insane

Great pic Rivergirl-loving the ferns.Heard a few rumbles from the cells that passed just north of Shepp, overcast here. Quite heavy rain on and off too that didn't look that heavy on the radar.

Woke to 13mm in the gauge this morning in shepp,temp 25.8, small patches of blue sky around and the cloud isn't too low, oh and the slight change in forecast overnight from showers to thunderstorms. will try and give updates of what is happening around here, hopefully my lingo isn't too skewiff-have...

Well what a difference a few hundred km's north makes. Arrived in Shepparton from Geelong about 30mins ago and i might as well have got off a plane at coolangatta-maybe Darwin but i havent been there yet to compare. 22.9 here, dp 22.4. Could feel an airmass difference in the car once i got past kalk...

With the High near New Zealand and what looks like a few cold fronts heading our way over the next few days would i be right in thinking that those mechanics combined will work to push rainfall fairly quickly to the south east. I had a look at the bom mjo info this morning and from what i can gather , and please someone correct me if i have read/worked out this wrong, the mjo influence is about to start another run past the top of australia from west to east and impact around the 2nd week of Feb possibly. Light , but constant rain here in Geelong atm-no wind either, doesn't seem to be much urgency but looking heavier on the radar out west. Wonder if it will pick up a little over the bay for the eastern parts of Melb later
