Re: Vic - heralding in March with humidity and an Easterly d

18mm here this morning in a huge suprise , not a storm just very humid wet rain, typical of this summer. Incredibly Horsham airport has recorded 43mm just north of Horsham. What will happen for the rest of the day, will it fine up?

Re: Looking towards substantial rainfall for SE Australia

Karl, I am with you on this one. Just have that feeling, also saw a lizard looking skyward on my way home from work, which is usually a sign a big rain is on the way, and he didnt even predict recent downpours. Now given the set of circumstances it could be the biggest yet...

Time will tell.

Re: Victoria: Troughy thundery humid rain event. Jan 9th-15t

Recorded just 34mm so we have escaped the forecast deluge of 50-100mm luckily. Rain cleared here about 6.30 with only the odd heavy shower to follow overnight, rainband did not redevelope over us but pushed through futher east. Stawell 87mm bore the brunt and Mt William a very isolated 132mm bring ...

Re: Victoria: Troughy thundery humid rain event. Jan 9th-15t

yeah Sat pic is pushing most of the heavy storm cloud down through central vic i reckon but all the mods have heavy rain on the cards early tommorrow also... so will have to wait and see how it pans out... Gee if Mt William has already had nearly 100mm and if there is still more to come... they ...

Has dried up here today after 100mm overnight, Jeparit recorded 162mm and just SW of there recorded 185mm (740pts) overnight... Will be an interesting day tomorrow if BOM's forecast comes off... Just not sure where the next 100mm is going to go??? Natimuk could be in more strife and the Wimmera ...

Lets' concentrate on the weather unfolding across western vic. 46mm here now at Horsham. Lighting stirke near Birchip could be something starting or just a random strike. Lots of rain here mm a minute at times. Wet Wet Wet!

Re: Victoria: Troughy thundery humid rain event. Jan 9th-15t

Raining solidly now here in Horsham, 25mm to date 15mm in the last half hour. Plenty more to come overnight, could end up with anything overnight if this keeps up. Outlook for the west of the state is ridiculous with 150mm+ in the next few days... Un-heard-of rainfall figures. East wimmera has ...

Re: Victoria: Troughy thundery humid rain event. Jan 9th-15t

Cells in the far NW Mallee now appear to be heading west, today we seemed to be on the edge of any rain to our east, perhaps the development in SA may indicate that tomorrow the far western vic has more chance. But I am only guessing, and so far... you can not hold hope by looking at the radar as ...

Re: Victoria: Troughy thundery humid rain event. Jan 9th-15t

Agree Sniper, thanks for your input. To think if some areas have already had 100mm+ in the Mallee what the result for them will be over the coming days... they might end up with annual figures not monthly for this week. Flooding certainly on the cards for parts... just how widespread will depend ...

Re: Victoria: Troughy thundery humid rain event. Jan 9th-15t

Only 7mm here mostly in the early hours of this morning, suprising to hear of 80-100mm around Warracknabeal only 50k north of here. Radar has teased all day, and hard to decided where to look for rain, at stages rain approached from NE N and NW but never made it here. Hoping rain stays away for our ...

Wild night 70mm yesterday to this morning, water lying everywhere, reports of 3cm hail last evening at Edenhope. Looks like the west has had the heaviest rain with Hamilton over 80mm. Have heard the Hopkins river has broken its banks. Water over the Henty highway at Cherrypool.

Re: Victoria: Rain/storm event - 6th-10th December 2010 (Obs

Not much rain here, and to me the rain band coming in from the west seems to be weakening, I guess the heavy rain will have to develop behind this initial band?

Re: Victoria: Rain/Storm event: 29th Nov - 5th Dec (Obs)

6mm here in Horsham thunder to our west already this morning just wondering when this is likely to drift our way, if things are the same as yesterday then it won't make it here, only chance is if it developes to our NE again. The radar in SE SA indicated some sort of change in movement of cells, but ...

Re: Victoria: Rain/Storm event: 29th Nov - 5th Dec (Obs)

Frustrating day here, storms developed on our doorstep andd are moving in almost the opposite direction to yesterday away to the SW. Still not over though anything could happen from either the east or NE. Wierd radar you will see what happens when what appears like 2 storms collide head on.... near ...
