Re: Victoria: Rain/Storm event: 29th Nov - 5th Dec (Obs)

Storms are less likely today Mircoburst. BOM chart indicates only a chance in areas that saw storms yesterday, as compared to "Likely" yesterday. Temps aren't forecast to be as high as yesterday and no trigger will see convection struggle to break thru. (Trough is back into SA this mornin...

Re: Victoria: Rain/Storm event: 29th Nov - 5th Dec (Analysis

Would be keen to get an insight into the major contributing factors into yesterdays bizzar day and also what TODAY holds for all. Yesterday turned out to be an interesting day here in western vic yesterday with slow moving pulsy storm clusters. In the end most storms missed major locations expect fo...

Re: Victoria: Rain/Storm event: 29th Nov - 5th Dec (Obs)

Radar echos would suggest large hail in that cell near Kilmore. Still waiting here in Horsham lots of virga rain only the yellow on radar is hitting the ground here.

Re: Victoria: Rain/Storm event: 29th Nov - 5th Dec (Obs)

Showers and storms starting up just to our west here at Horsham, extremely slow moving expect localised flash flooding and hail a chance. Only small cells at this stage and anvils heading in different directions.

VERY loud thunder just starting up again here at Yea and it is bucketing down! :D Will not be good news for some of the orchards in the area, the cherry crop for one is being badly affected, good friend and daughter are in the area again this year for the harvest, the poor crop because of the weath...

Re: Victoria: Rain/Storm event: 29th Nov - 5th Dec (Obs)

Would not be suprised if that report of 112mm or 4.5 inches at Pimpinio is correct, drove from Horsham to Pimpinio through some of the heaviest rain ever, sheets of water on fallow paddocks. Huge stationary storm in that part of the world, has now decaded rapidly.

Re: Victoria: Rain/Storm event: 29th Nov - 5th Dec (Obs)

12mm today from thundery showers, very still and humid outside, can see a large storm in the north west heading over the border to SA. Radar indicates that this storm is severe and likely to contain large hail. Storms are definitely stronger the further west from here. Will be interesting to see how...

Re: Victoria: Rain/Storm Event (Obs) November 22-28 2010

Thankfully not much rain here in Horsham today recorded 8mm this morning, wind is in the south now and rain has stopped, we missed yesterdays storms but still trying to dry up after 28mm on Wednesday. We need sun and rain for farmers crops to dry before they are downgraded. The way it is looking tho...
