Maximum for Launceston today was 30.4 degrees at 3.37 pm. The first maximum in excess of 30 degrees for 2017. Else where Ouse was 34.7, Bushy Park 33, Fingal 31.6, Campania 30.5, Grove 31 and Hobart 26.1.

This fast moving system formed a LOW near Flinders Island delivered good totals to the state's North East. Patchy rain falling across Northern Tasmania at the moment. 1.4 mm at Smithton the highest total so far.

A pleasant 24.7 degrees in Launceston today with 24.1 in Hobart. Highest in Tasmania today was Fingal with 29.1 degrees.

Some good falls across Tasmania today however the south and east missed out. Mount Victoria 54 mm, Scottsdale 41 mm, Wynyard 34 mm, Mt Arthur 34 mm, Low Head 25 mm, Devonport 20 mm, Launceston 18 mm, St Helens 2 mm, Hobart 1.2 mm

Hobart has received 34.8 mm of rain since 9 am yesterday. Including 33 mm between 400 and 730. Campania in the South East has had 58 mm with 50 mm falling between 530 and 930.

Heavy rain here in the Tamar Valley, 360 degree lightning flashes and rolling thunder. Once in five years type storm for this part of the world.

More decent rainfall totals in Tasmania over the last 24 hours with frequent showers hitting mainly the North and West. 33mm at Mt Victoria and Cradle Valley the standouts. The LOW keeps on giving here in Tassie. Focus of the rain overnight has been in the North West and West. 105 mm at Mt Read, 68 mm at Borradaile Plains, 40 mm at Sheffield 37 mm at Meander, 34 mm at Western Creek, 30mm at Brady's Lake, 16mm at Wynyard, 14 mm at Devonport and only 1 mm in Launceston.

Rainfall focus turned to the South East of Tasmania overnight with Interlaken 96 mm, Nugent 86 mm, Tooms Lake 79 mm, Mt Wellington 72 mm, Grove 67 mm, Triabunna 63 mm, Friendly Beach 46 mm, Hobart 35.2 mm.
