Overall, we've had a pretty good decade here; the Millenium Drought was much worse.

Three of the last 5 years have been above our 828mm average, and 2022 was our best ever (well, in our 28 years anyway!) of 1132mm. Then 2024 came along and gave us our driest year at 530.5mm.

So far, 2025 isn't ...

No rain expected here though. Lawns are turning to bare dirt.

I've been wondering.. how often were temperatures checked when stations were manned, and during early automation of stations?

Since daily maximums can be recorded in between the 10 minute updates from stations and heat can spike for a minute or so, is more recent data ...

Incidentally, the summer of 2019 was far far hotter than this summer.
